Friends father is dying

I have a friend whose father is very ill. He was told last week after a brief hospital stay that if he does not take dyalisis that he only has a few months to live. He signed himself out of the hospital and is not eating or drinking, he is literally starving himself to death, refuses to take his meds and the sad part is, she has to witness all of this because he moved into her house over the summer. His kidney condition is making him very mean to her. I try to tell her that it is the disease talking not him. She is taking this very hard, she just lost a sister to homocide over the summer, her family pet that was like a child and her fathers wife past about 3 years ago. I don't know how much more she can take. I guess the hardest part is that her last memories of him will be the bitterness and meaness towards her and her family members. Her step mother put her through the same thing when she passed, just was rotten mean to her for months. I hope my friend has the courage to get through this. The visiting nurses are telling her that he will only last days without food and water. He is strong willed and has wanted to die since his wife passed. I know she can not do anymore than she already has to try and make his life worth fighting for, I am just so sad that she has to witness this every day. I pray she has the strength to get through it.
