Oscars for India?

Do you really feel that Indian films need to pry for the oscars?So much controversy is being created as to which film must be sent to the oscars.But why do the indians(we) do so?
As shah rukh khan says we must create our own oscars and compete with ourselves.
We have come to a stage in which our films have begun to attract the world audience and it has started getting critical acclaim.Such a prosperous film industry need not be so eager to get a prize/award of some other country!

it is not that we don't have a national academy awards here,
it is just that these stars as shah rukh khan are not getting their recognition.
how can he comment on others craze for oscars when he himself makes movies with the international audience in mind?
and i think that indian films are not only bollywood. as a matter of fact more good films are made regionally than in the big business world of bollywood.
they are trying to hijack every award committee,but internationally they cant win much awards as they lack substance.
