Okay in the US its not all that much but...would you spend it right away or save it? Would you spend it on groceries, a new book - clothes? Go out with a friend(s) for a really nice dinner and a show/movie?

Money - $100, seems like a lot of money, least it used too. About the equivelent of a dollar!
Right now, I would put it up and save it. It would def go to paying a bill or putting some food in the fridge in the very near future. Certainly not going to anything fun when responsibility takes over. lol My day is coming, its got too! Just have to be patient. lol Bay xx

You're right about that, your day is coming soon. For good stuff. What if you HAD to spend it - and not on practical things?

Being that I go through my ink cartridges of my printer fairly fast I'd probably stock up on printer ink...okay not very exciting or glamorous..but practical and something I always need ...LOL

Mmm..hate to disappoint you...LOL..but I've always tended to be on the practical side....but if I were to just really blow it ---the money-- on something non-essential and to pamper myself...mmm...how about some really expensive perfume..like my favorite..Christian Dior's Opium..LOL

I think that's a great thing to spend it on - because its for both practical and artistic purposes - well, depending on what you use the printer for! What if, though, what if you couldn't use it for something even remotely practical?

More glamourous than what I would do with a hundred dollars.

I'd probably add some more of my own money and invest it in some asset class and try and make it grow to a bigger amount. The next option would be (if I had no option but to spend the money) to buy a gift for my wife.

Your first response is very practical - your second extremely sweet. :)

If I had a hundred dollars, I would put it in my Canadian Us bank account. I really missed not having enough to get all those bargains when we went on our trip. That is assuming it is a check in US dollars. Now if it were not, I would put it in my high interest bank account, so much more for my Mac computer.

So you would put it in your bank account - for your next trip? :)

Because my husband will be unemployed in just a few short weeks, I would stock up the pantry on items that we could use over the winter. Canned goods, flour, sugar, etc. You are right that $100 isn't much, but when you have so little it is a lot.

There's an early potty training book I want to get - its actually terribly expensive. My husband was potty trained by ten months and in many countries babies are potty trained much sooner then that - he's from Asia. And I'd get presents for my mom - she was just diagnosed with cancer.

Well Right now I would pay some bills and buy some grocerys and pet food. But because I see you want us to 'spurge' it away, I would say I would rent a room (alone!!!) in Gatlinburg with a jacuzzi and spend so much time in it that It would take me a week to de-prune!!LOL I would LOVE to be able to do some fun for Mom stuff, but the budget won't allow it right now!

I do believe in being practical certainly, but this is the stuff of daydreams! I think your idea for renting a room sounds fun!

$100 are a lot in my country (Sweden) and I would use it for bills. It would help and let me use some for other things I could need. But mostly I would start thinking about presents for Christmas. It´s the big event coming up and expensive to. since the kids wishes these days are expensive. Have a nice day

Nice choices. Kids toys are very expensive - I have a baby - and want to get a VTech computer. Of course there are so many free ways to play with a baby - and teach them new concepts at the same time.

Well, My kids are 20 and 16 so there are not so many toys on their list of wishes. No, it is more than that. However, my daughter have moved to her own place so I do know what I can by to her. But harder for my son in his 16 years. I really do not know what to by to him. He want things that cost more than I earn for a salary. Since I have cut down my working hours and he no longer gives child support from our government but from school I have less to spend on presents for Christmas. I wish people would stop shop so much in this time of the year and start thinking more about why we celebrate this season instead of thinking about the gifts.

Eh, I'd have to pay a bill with it, if I had that money right now. As it is I have a few things I'm behind on, so I wouldn't be able to do anything fun or interesting with it. *pouts* In normal times, when I was working and didn't have to worry quite so much, $100 would have bought me a few volumes of manga!!!

You beat me to my question: what would you buy if you had to use it for something far from practical - what's manga - one of your anime movies?

Nice a balance of spending between yourself and others!

I would probably save half of it and then use the other half to buy craft supplies. I don't really NEED more craft supplies, and there are probably better things I could do with $50 or $100, but it would be nice to be able to spend a little money on stuff that I want. :)
