Aloe Vera Plants - Cure for Skin Conditions?

I recently bought an aloe vera plant and having used it on a couple of mild skin rashes I was very impressed with the quick results. Then I tried a little on my friend's little girl who has very bad eczema with almost instant good results. I would be interested to know whether others use this (the plant as opposed to creams made from it) and if these are typical results. If you have used aloe vera plant, what sort of things have you used it for and did you use the raw plant or prepare it in any way?

This is one plant I avoid unless I'm ready to itch. I'm allergic to the plant. I wish more products in my stores didn't have it in them. I'm aware it does help some people, but its one to be careful giving as a gift to another person.

Aloe Vera plants can work wonders to the human body... i wanted to buy one for myself but my apartment is too small and we don't even have a place where it is sunny enough to put it... but before, we use it to cure minor burns and wounds... we also apply it to our heads if we want to have more hair to grow or if we want to have our hair grow faster... There was no neet to prepare it in any way... we just used the raw plant or the juice that comes out of the leaves...
