Where do you do your Mylotting, and computer related activities?

I spend so much time up in my office doing my writing work, internet research, playing games and of course wandering about Mylot land that I thought you might like to see what my workspace looks like. You will see my desk surrounded with many of my favorite 'power animals' and collectibles...and of course my site on Mylot on the screen.
So here it is...where I do am when chatting to all of you..thought you might enjoy seeing the woman in her hats behind the screen! Look forward to hearing from you and if you have photos you want to share...I will rate them a big plus and add a comment the way many of you always do for me!Thanks...should be fun hearing from you!
Best regards as always,
Raia

I mostly do mylot here at home, I feel more comfortable when posting here and no one else to see what I'm typing. I get uneasy and conscious whenever I see someone reading the words I put on my post, I feel like my fingers are trembling though they are not!;) My PC desk is located near our tv, to access it easily whenever I want to turn it on. My desk consists papers for scratches and doodling, dikettes, a mirror for personal grooming my cellphone.
I also have candies and books here, because I use books mostly for reference and candies to munch on while mylotting..

Hi again..
I can appreciate your lack of ease about not having strangers reading your words. The setup you have sounds like a very workable arrangement..and well organized to boot!
Right down to the candies for snacks...you've got all the bases covered from the sound of it! Thanks for adding where you are to the topic...I am always curious about people's setups and that is why I decided to post the inquiry.
Cheers,
Raia

Hi Raijiin..
Yes, it is great to chat with friends and learn more about them, where they live, what they do..where they work.
People and their lifestyles may differ, but we all have a basic need to connect, to feel heard, loved and understood. In a strange, wonderful and often inexplicable way Mylot gives that to all of us. amazing!
Thanks for you warm words...and your friendship.
Best regards,
Raia

Hi..
Yes, I agree with you...it is wonderful to spend hours on Mylot. I would never have thought it would be as enjoyable and 'addicting' as it is. This is an amazing community and I feel great joy in meeting people, sharing ideas and learning about people and their lifestyles from all over the world.
Thanks for dropping by and adding to the discussion...

For the rewards we receive from the internet sites, it is not worthwhile doing the internet work in a browsing centre. In Bangalore, they charge 25 cents (US) per hour and some charge 50 cents per hour. The computers with internet runs on a slow speed and it take more than an hour to surf couple of sites compared to 20 minutes that it takes when one has own computer with 128 or 256 KBPS.
Only when my computer is having a problem for a day or two, I go to browsing centre and I hate to be there. I see a lot of youngsters indulging in see WWF or adult sites.
I therefore always like to work at home with my computer connected with Broad band 256 kpbs, unlimited usage and unlimited downsloads. The same connection is extended to my business premises, so that when I am in office I use the same internet connection at my office PC.

Hello again my friend,
Thank you for adding your computer experiences and the differences in the options you have. Hearing about the slow speed internet and the atmosphere at browsing sites in Bangalore I can understand why you prefer working at home or at the office.
I find atmosphere affects my creative and intellectual pursuits and that is why I surround myself with symbolic collectibles that inspire me. In the evening the lighting is subdued in my office with candles, incense and music playing in the background.
Like you I probably wouldn't function as well in a crowded place with the WWF pounding away in and around where I was trying to concentrate.
So good to know more about where you work...and a little more about your country. Thank you for your on-going participation here...it is appreciated!
Sincere regards,
Raia

Hi Nardz...
Is the lounge in your home or elsewhere..I was a little unclear on that. In any case it sounds as though you have a few options...and that is always helpful. I appreciate you stopping by and adding to the topic..thanks!

No cameras allowed in this room! This is the office/papercraft room/puppy play area, and keeping it tidy is not an option!
I have my Pop's big hand-made desk holding my big computer and printer, and the rest of the upper surfaces are devoted to billing and filing for the company, and to either the storage of craft supplies or the production of product.
The lower area is an obstacle course of rubber balls, squeeky toys, and old socks with knots in them... leaving my chair means I take my life in my hands!
I love this room!

Hello my friend...
Thanks for your open, candid appraisal of your workspace and what you love about it. That is the only thing that really matters is how we feel while we are in any space we inhabit. If you love it...and feel happy there who cares how it appears to others.
From the sound of it you have a lot of different functions for this space. Nince that you have your Pop's desk...must make you feel connected to him. Always enjoyable to share more of our lives...and I look forward to a lot more of that when we hopefully get together next year!
All the best to you and yours,
Raia

Yes, this is some desk! He made it from two 18-inch-wide drawer-unit base cabinets, because he was in the cabinet business... there are lots of drawers for all my necessaries! The top is 28x 62 inches... a very nice surface for the computer and my current project!

Well my friend...yes..that is a desk with created from a lot of forethought and now you have it to carry on the traditions of functionality. Maybe you don't want to post your work space here...but if you ever want to share your Pop's creation with me down the line you could send an image by private e-mail.
My grandfather had a desk I would love to have had but my dad decided to donate it to sell it to an antique dealer. Oh well. It has an immensely heavy solid wood roll top desk. To this day I love roll-tops for sentimental reasons and if I ever find one similar I will buy it and strike one more thing from my wish list.
Anyhow, good to hear about you space...and while we're talking about that how are your space clearing plans going? David and I are finishing up our fall cleanup on Thursday and are planning a major cleansing on the house. In Fung Shui they believe 9 is the number of completion. The 18th combines to 9...as does 2007...so it feels like a great day to realign the energies with the changing season.
I think of your commitment and wondered if you have noticed anything differert. Hope things are progressing well.
In the meantime bright blessings..

Hello again..
Sorry we keep missing each other and playing telephone tag...oh well at least we are trying.
I really appreciate the way you have created a really clear visual image of your workspace and what you have in it. Thanks for commenting on the photo..and I never thought about the tidiness factor...it truly is the way I work. There is a place for everything and everything in its place. When I am finished at the end of the day anything I've been working on goes in a storage drawer. My books are put back on the shelf because personally I cannot stand clutter when I work. My brain is full enough of ideas and too much 'stuff' around me blocks the flow. It was interesting to me that everyone commented on the order in my office...I never thought about it because it is 'normal' for me. Aussie said it was 'stranger than fiction' to have such a tidy desk. Hmmmm...one never knows how perceptions are so different! LOL...the joy of Mylotting to see things from so many 'Perspectives.' That is why we are here through..
Anyway hope to chat in person soon...my thoughts will be with you as you see your doctor...please let me know how things are going...
Love and light,
Raia

I do my online ventures here in pc number 6. I am staying in the internet cafe of my partner/husband :)
It is because this is the closest pc in the kitchen where I can easily go back to the things taht I am doing anytime needed. but I just spend my spare time making online money and making new friends here in the internet.

I do all my computer works and other side activities in the internet at the office. I do not have a pc just yet although I am planning to buy one in the near future.
The time I spend in mylot is not usually that long since I have to make do with break times and a little over 30 minutes usually in the mornings since I go to work early.
You have a really nice office there Perspectives, its really good to be sorrounded by things that remind us of positive things.

Hi. I appreciate your comments about my office and collectibles. You eloquently mirror my views...it is great to be surrounded by things that remind us of positive things. When the sun goes down I light candles, burn incense and listen to music as I work at my computer.
I sincerely wish you every success in achieving your goal for a PC. It is good that you can mix up your work day with some relaxation by checking into Mylot for a break.
Good chatting, and your favorable observations mean a lot..thanks

Hi...and thanks for letting me know where you are when you Mylot. It is a fine looking couch...comfy I am sure with the high back. I rated your photo a plus..but couldn't comment because we are not on our friends list. Oh well..thanks all the same for posting an image...I value the extra time it takes to do so and always comment when I can.
All the best and happy, comfy Mylotting in your inviting space there.

hi there. how are you doing. i do my posting and mylotting here in my place. in my home. i usually post in my room. with my hubby in my room too. while my hubby busy doing his own thing i post here. before i go to sleep i post here too. before we go to bed. this is nice site for me to relax and to share ideas and to gain friends. this site has done great things for me. this for me i consider like a chat room. we could talk a lot here and earn some very little earnings. but it's great too to get even those earnings. but i am not after the earnings. i am more for the chat i can make here with other members.

Hi..and thank you very much for your comments about my workspace and collectibles. The 'tidy factor' is something that I strive for. My hubby will attest I didn't straighten it up for the photo...it is how I prefer to work. When I am researching there may be papers around...but I alway put everything away at the end of the day so I start fresh. And yes, the chair is very comfy.
I appreciate hearing about where you work...in the kitchen could be great too...close to coffee, tea and munchies for all the time we spend keying and feeding our addition to Mylot! LOL
Cheers,
Raia

I also spend most of the time in the office also and do a lot of mylotting in the office. I work as a customer service officer phone in and writing on mylot and mylotting is a therapy for me. I can enjoy chatting sometimes with friends while answering the phone.
I also chat and do online work at home when I feel like doing it. Often times I just rest at home, when I have some catching up on mylot I do it at home and specially on my rest days and when im off from work and enjoy listening to the cool music. I cannot listen to the music here in the office so I listen a lot at home.

Thanks for sharing your computer and Mylotting experiences. There have been a wide variety of places and spaces where people spend their time keying. It is good that you are able to multi-task and do you Mylotting, work and use it as a stress reliever. Sounds like you have a goo system going with juggling it all.
Your comments about having music while keying at home is something I love too. I missed that when I worked for others..now both my hubby and I are self-employed and can play my music in the background 24-7.
So happy Mylotting where ever you are!

I can appreciate why you go up to a place where you aren't bothered. We have a laptop and sometimes I work down in the great room where we have our television...but I find it really slows me down. Trying to chat with hubby, watch television and Mylot with our dogs and cats around is all distracting.
So we are on the same page on this one. Thanks for adding your views...

Hi...
Well I am sure your employers don't mind that..the fact that you have pangs of guilt shows that you must be a conscientious worker. I can appreciate why you need to do that once in awhile if you have young ones monopolizing the home one. Thanks for your input...it is fun to hear where people are as they face the screen and put their words out there for the rest of us to read.
