working in a contact center is similar to a call center the only difference is that in a contact center other mediums of communication is used to provide customer service...inbound calls, outbound calls, email support, chat...

im working for American Express at the moment, and yeah call centres are good if you like to talk! i am a very bubbly and out-going person.. so i really enjoy it but sometimes you get really bad customers, thats when you have to try and solve their difficult problems.. but always be nice, listen, empathize with them. Make sure that you try and help them solve the problem with there service, and always be friendly.. always ask probing questions etc........ its easy, you just need to learn how to speak and learn about the products or any programs you maybe using..
its great working there.......and im sure contact centre.. or the service your talking about is similar because thats what i do in my job, its great. anyways hope you like my feed back. Hope you have a good day.

Ive been working in call center industry for almost 4yrs now as a technical support agent. On this type of job, you get to talk to different people, kids, teens , adults, professionals, and all kinds of races, and thats the fun thing about this job. Well the bad thing here is when you get an irate or frustrated client, and for no reason he or she blames you for the problem his having, this incident happens most of the time. So for those whose planning to get into this job, make sure have alot of patience.

What would you like to know about it? you did not ask decriptive questions as to how i can help you with this.
I am working in a call center, contact center company for 6 years now. it is my first job and i am still in the same company. promoted twice already and is looking forward to another challenging task.
ere are some i would like to share with you though:
1. Be patient - clients are irritating at times but always keep your cool.
2. Improve your grammar - It is a number one requirement especially if you intend to work in an international project.
3. Be flexible - do not complain about schedules. Call center jobs is what they say is a modern day slavery! haha They have only put people in an airconditioned room, with a computerin front of them... Cause all you do is talk and talks the whole shift! all 7.5 hours of it. you can pee at times but that is monitored too. :) haha
4. make friends - they will help you get through the tough times in this world
5. sleep when you are at home! you need the best sleep you can have to get bakc your lost energy! :)

asking other people about call center work will enable you to have an idea of what the job entails. but if you are serious about getting a job in call center company, i suggest that you enroll yourself to a call center training. you can check out multilingual, inc. they offer intensive and complete training at affordable fees.
