Blind Dates

If given a chance, would you go on a blind date. It may be very exciting in the beginning, but the chances are that that guy/girl may not be as he/she seems. I have heard of cases where the girl gets murdered because of that one blind date. I think it is better to know a person through another friend . I may be wrong also. Maybe people have met their life partners on a blind date. I sure would like to know your opinions.

I love blind dates, I think through out my lifetime maybe 50% of my dates have been blind.
(not literally) The reason I like going on blind dates is because you never know how weird or sweet they might be!

for me, blind dates are scary..im scared of going into blind dates...because you do not know that the person you will be meeting might have some mental or psychological disorders

I don't know that I'd go on a blind date, but it's easy to say that when I'm in a stable relationship. I guess my ideas might be different if I was single, and had been for a long time.
My mum actually met my step-father through a blind date, though it was set up through friends of theirs, so while my mum didn't know anything about him, she trusted her friends' judgement.
I also have two friends who met their partners through internet dating sites, so I guess that sometimes it works out well.
