I know it made mine skip a few beats...I was watching court TV and they were investigating a murder of a young doctor who was killed in his apartment/townhouse...Come to find out the suspect entered the young doctors apartment through a crawl space in the attic...
It seems that about 60 feet there was another crawl space and the suspect entered there into the guys closet...He thought no one was home but the doctor was, so the guy killed him...He then crawled back up into the attic and over to his girlfriends apartment like nothing happened...All the evidence proved otherwise......insulation was found in the apartment...
The scary part was that the apartments can be entered through a crawl space through a trap door in the attic, by way of the closet...Very scary though to think anyone could get into your home that way......
I have never lived in an apartment but if I ever had too that would be the first thing I would check out.....

We once lived in an apartment complex where there were 4 apartments in the same building. They resembled row houses. The cellars were all connected and the only thing that was between each unit was a firewall. When I found out they said that was the way the units were built. One of the walls had deteriorated due to moisture and you could see into the adjacent unit. The management fixed the problem with a bandaid. Thankfully nobody every entered our unit. We were all friends.

I once lived in an apartment that had a crawl space like that. I'm not sure it went from one apartment to another but it probably did. Thats kind of scary.

Wow! That is extremely scary! I've only ever lived in one apartment and that is definitely not something I would have ever thought could happen! But it gives me a heads up for when my girls go out on their own and live in apartments!

We have a crawl space in our apartments but I've never even looked up there. It can only be opened from ourside so there's no way anyone could come through there but boy, talk about creepy. I would wonder why apartments would even build them like that.

That's so terrible! I certainly feel for the family of the deceased doctor! I hope the man was caught and put on trial. Something like that is completely inexcusable!

That is really creepy!
I am glad that I no longer live in an apartment.
What a psycho!
Was the guy trying to rob him?
How sad and scary!
