Fees too high?

Does anyone else think Ebay's fees are too high.
All in consideration, the amount of fees incurred compared to the costs of maintanence etc, is ridiculous. For one or two items, it may not seem like alot, but when you sell several items, Ebay can really go to town with the fees, eg. Listing Fees, Final Value fees, Buy it now fees, Gallery Picture fees, etc etc.
Has Ebay gone too far?
Would you like to see a competition site with a high profile like Ebay emerge?

I've been selling on ebay for years and I think most of the sellers agree that the fees are way too high. I finally opened their lowest price store and am finding that's very cost effective for me. There are other auction sites where there are no fees except final value fee and even that is lower than ebays.

this is why I am a buyer only! lol. Hubby sells on oztion and finds the fees much better. If you not in Australia, bit hard! lol. Ebay used to be a humble group, but since becoming huge, they got big heads and big fees. I'm sticking to the buying! lol. I love getting packages in the mail, christmas most days here! lol.

The fees are high. If they had more competition they would be cheaper, the rates will only go down when they have another major player on the market. I have tried reselling stuff in a brick and mortar place, and Ebay is steal in comparison. When Ebay has some of their special promotions are a good time to list stuff.

Ebay has to make money but I think they make enough that there fees could be alitle lower.

It's really not reasonable to do this, maybe ebay intends to save the resource on the angle of long plan, but it should take the customers' benefits in consideraton at the fist place. They do this maybe hold some new customers out of the door.

It is getting ridiculous. When I first started to sell on ebay it wasn't as bad as it is now. And with ebay raising their rates so much and then the higher cost of postal services it makes it very difficult to turn a profit. It causes the everyone to have to up their prices, and for some of us we can't get the people to buy at what we would need to make it all worth it. I try to sell mostly when they have the listing fee sales. Most of my items that I start at only $20 end up costing me a dollar to list and that means ebay is making a killing.

If you don't do a lot of the add-ons, I don't think the fees are too high. But they do seem a bit much if your item doesn't sell.
I think everyone is used to Ebay. While competition is good, I don't know that a new Ebay would be the best method. I think multiple websites, each with a niche, might be better.

The charges are getting a bit out of hand now on eBay and it is putting me off selling now. I tend to wait for the 10p listing days now, as a means of saving on fees.

I also think they are too high. I've started doing my selling on craiglist and it doesn't cost anything. I have ended up paying more than I've made selling on ebay I'm not using them anymore.
