My son is 16 years old today. Why is this birthday making me feel old? He's only a sophmore in high school, so he's not leaving home anytime soon.
You always hear people say, "Oh, they grow up so fast" and "They'll be gone before you know it". That hasn't hit home until now.
How did you feel when your child turned 16? Was it a milestone event for you?

But he is your son and you should look for his progress in field of education and career. So just give him you love and that is a good investment. Wherever he goes he comes back to you, even after themarriage. He just cannot forget mother's love or parent's love. The attachments and fondness in the family is the greatest factor which keeps the members united. I like it.

Well Caver, I know what you mean. I have a son who was 16 in April, my eldest, and it certainly is a milestone. He`s a young man now and not a child - but its a bit scary cos I still worry when he`s out of the house. Yeah, i know you`ve got to cut the apron strings, but thats mothers for you. And he`SO TALL. At 6ft 2 I have to look up at him now. What a strange feeling.
