Oh, my dear friends! Starting from tomorrow I am going to work all day long in an office. I don't really want to do that as I got used to being lazy and doing dnothing but chatting here or surfing the Internet and reading books. I don't know what it will be like and I hope I won't be too stressed there. Do you have any ideas on how to make your day job pleasant? And how to force yourself to wake up early in the morning?

First of all, congratulations on your new day job! I know how it feels to be working again a very long rest, doin nothin... But having a day job can be pretty exciting, just think of the pay check you'll be getting ..LOL and of course motivate yourself by expecting new friends to come your way,new acquaintances and new environment. Do not be late on your first day..being late would give them a bad impression about you and just be your best! God bless!

thank you so much for your nice words. Yes, it is hard to get used to go to work every day after the long relaxation months, but I think I will make it.

Can't tell you how to force yourself awake as I have no problems cause I suck at sleeping. As far as making your day enjoyable? Find small things in your day that you like. Put up pictures of things that make you happy. Listen to music that you love. That's about the only comfort I find in my day.

Good luck with your first day on the job and hope your day goes very well and that it is not too stressful. The first day is always the most nervous one for me from my previous jobs but usually not bad since I am usually filling out paperwork or being trained. I am sure that you will not be worked too hard on your first day as you need to get accustomed to everything and learn the job.

I get up early because I have too. It was a definite change going back to work. I was used to doing things on *my* schedule. Now I have to go to work according to someone elses schedule. I've gotten used to it and have learned to adapt. I don't have as much extra time as I used to, but have more money to do things. It's a tradeoff I guess? On how to make it pleasant....it's all in your attitude I think. Just go to work and make the best of it. I think you'll be fine. Good luck!

Oh gettin gup early is the thing. my boyfriend just started a new job yesterday also and we are use of being up all night long and sleeping until 11 am and now he has to be up at 4am to leave for work by 5:15am so that is a big change for us. You will know how to do the day thing after a few days doing you new job. Good Luck and have fun that is the main thing.

hi friend the best way to work up early is too use an alarm clock. alarm it 3 hours before the first hour. you can think that with your job you will have more money than usual no matter what job are you in. always smile and mingle with your colleagues, be friendly to everybody in your work place. good luck and congratulations.

congratulations on on your job! I am also looking forward to going back to the workforce sometimes soon. I am very excited on that day to come. I used to work in an office and I love it. But since I migrated here in the US, I have to wait for my greencard to work legally. I am not also good to walking up early in the morning. Since my husband has to work at 8AM, so I also conditioned myself to wake up early to prepare his food and pack lunch and try my best not to go back to sleep again so I will not have much difficulty in adjusting when I am working already. So just think you need to wake up early because it is a MUST for your work. Think also of the paycheck that you'll receive at the end of the week or two and what you are going to use for it so that you will be encouraged and inspired to go to work everyday. Your adjustment will only be difficult in first few weeks or months but later on you'll get used to it again. It's just a matter of self-conditioning, self-discipline and your determination to achieve in your new career. Goodluck!

Work isn't exactly fun and sitting all day in an office is not fun. I think it you just get thru the day and hope the people you sit near are fun and funny that make the most stressful and unpleasant day go bye fast. Good luck and remember it is a paycheck.
