What's the most difficult thing you've forgiven?

I notice that when I had to take a while to forgive something, it's usually already done and over in the other persons mind.
Forgiveness is really a gift I give to myself. Finally becoming aware of the bottled up emotion and letting it go... to stop replaying it over and over again in my mind. What a waste of time! And it really gets you sick with negative emotions!
I just can't take anything personally anymore, even when it is. It's my reaction or non reaction to the situation that really matters. I choose for myself to feel free, I am not going to shut down because of some situation beyond my control.

My father and one of my exes for abusing me. I am fortunate to have learned from them and to know enough not to continue the Chain of Abuse. I've forgiven them, but it makes it very difficult to trust anyone, ever.
