what is happiness?

what is happiness for you? when i was in college my friends and i used to wonder about this question. it seems like we have never attained true happiness. looking back now, it seemed like the answer had been staring right at us. being with friends is happiness. it seems like in our preoccupation with finding the things that make us happy, we werent able to recognize that its there in our group. I think that true happiness is being content and appreciative with what life has to offer. being with my family is happiness. how about you? can you share with me what happiness is?
