It's rainy and gloomy and winter will soon be here. When I was small we used to play lots of board games when the weather was crappy. My mother also always had a jigsaw puzzle laying out on the card table and if you wanted you could stop by for a minute and try to find a place for a piece to help complete the picture. Do you like jigsaw puzzles and do you still put them together?

I use to love doing jigsaw puzzles. My mom would buy me a new one everytime I finished one. She would buy harder and harder ones. One time she bought a fall scene that was super hard because it was all trees with red and orange leaves. I still like to do puzzles sometimes but it seems that I never have time anymore.

My mom loved puzzles. She had all sizes and themes. She would put them together all year round. She had small puzzles that would take an hour to put together and she had huge puzzles that would take weeks to do.She would store the boarder separately from the rest of the puzzle. Was that cheating? It was great. But in last years of her life, we both were too busy to do puzzles but it was fun.

My mother also was a jugsaw fanataic. And she was good too. She'd even do them with the pieces upside down so she couldn't see the colors etc. Just by the size and shape she'd do them. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Yes she was but she thought I was better than she because I would walk by the table , pick up a piece and put it in.

I can't leave them alone! If one's laying out then I just can't leave it alone till it's finished. I've been known to finish 500 piece puzzles in only a few hours.

You must be good at them! I love doing them especially with someone. My eight year old granddaughter now loves doing them and we are moving up in number of pieces. Can't wait until she gets here for thanksgiving...I have two new ones for her!

Love jigsaw puzzles...new challenge...mix 3 of them in one box. One without pictures. Now everyone get together, and work on the puzzles. This is really fun. We did it a few times. Requires a great deal of cooperation and imagination

One of our Christmas traditions is that I get a puzzle every year for the whole family. We all work on it until it gets done - the harder the better!

My Mom and I don't live in the same city anymore, but when I lived at home Mom and I did lots of those puzzles together. Over the past couple of years I've given my mother and step-father a couple of really interesting jigsaw puzzles which they've really enjoyed.

They are fun because of the challenge! I think it's good for the brain to exercise that way.

The funny thing is, I wasn't really into jigsaw puzzles when I was younger. Sometimes I'd put one together, but I never paid them too much attention because I found them a tad time consuming. Now, I really like putting puzzles together and take the chance to do so whenever I can, because it's kind of relaxing, even though it sometimes can be frustrating. It definitely gives me something to do so I'm not bored all the time.

And it's very cheap entertainment if you think about it. For the cost you get hours and hours of pleasure and it keeps the mind sharp!

i remember my mother and sister always seeming to have one laid out on the table too. i like some of the beautiful pictures they come with now, but i dont touch them. in fact as a teen i was banned from ever touching a jigsaw puzzle again lol!! i have no patience and apparantly got too frustrated and tried to force too many pieces where i wanted them to go lol!! very pretty to look at, but i dont even try to help put them together..it just ends up making me mad!!
