Why did they kill off John Black?

Oh, I'm sooo upset. I missed today's episode b/c we had doctor's appts. So I just finished watching today's episode on soapnet on my directv. I am sooo upset about John Black's death. Why did they kill him off? They just brought him out of that oh so long coma, and he and Marlena and Belle were just getting back together as a family.

I haven't watched the show lately but I bet it's a set up of some sort. They can't let him go! He's been there for so long and is a vital part of the show!

I thought it was so wrong also. I had heard that he was complaining that they were not giving him enough parts. Maybe he chose to leave, but I was upset with that idea also. I think maybe before it is all over, there will be more.

From the way they did things, it looks permanant... Normally if someone goes that will come back they just bury them and get on with it. From what I can remember, they only do the whole flashback thing when they're really gone... I hope I'm wrong though, he usually had great story lines...

I've never run into this before. I get my notifications from email as well. I started this discussion, I didn't open it. I also list who he is on my tags, a character from Days of our Lives. This discussion was aimed at people who know who John Black is, information on him/his character.

Heather I must admit that I too am guilty of not putting enough info in my question. In this case, I was just upset, I had just watched the episode I think that day and was puzzled & scatterbrained by the entire incident of them killing him off the show. I took for granted that everyone would know who he was, sorry about that. It is the only soap that I watch on a regular basis so other's characters are foreign to me also. I do thank you for bringing this to my attention, I will try to be more thoughtful next time and put more information in it. :)

I was upset about this also. I cried while watching Days of Our Lives three days in a roll.
