I saw this link on aol about the cheapest person I know. They had some really hysterical situations on there. I know I am frugal and sometimes I guess I'm just a downright cheapskate, but some of these stories were unbelievable. Do you know any cheapskates? I'd love to hear the story about the cheapest person you know. http://money.aol.com/special/cheapest-person-i-know

Most of those were pretty sick, but some of them were bodering on child abuse. The newspaper toilet tissue and the spoiled chicken, those were disgusting. Talk about unfit parents.

I can only think of one person but she was a dilly let me tell you. I was in my 20's at the time and one of my best friends was the mother of one of my girlfriends. She was more like one of the girls and acted no different than we did although she was more than 20 years older, but cheap Oh my goodness. The girls all wanted to go for coffee after work one day and of course I was in for that, well Evelyn right away said, "I can't be affording that." Coffeee then was 25 cents a cup. Without missing a beat I said, "Well then here's the keys to the car, you can wait there for me because I'm going for coffee." She was afraid she may miss something and of course she came for coffee. I later told her I was sorry for being sharp with her but I was flat out fed up of always having to hear how broke she was and I reminded her that every year when our car insurance came due she was always the first to have her car insured and yet there was more than once I had to leave my car parked because I didn't have the money to get it. I also told her everyone was getting tired of hearing the broke story and before long she simply wouldn't be asked to come along and that did nip it in the bud, I've known her since I was 15 and I'm nearly 57 now so I guess she didn't hold it against me. Take Care.

the cheapest person I know would be my paretns neighbor she will drive 10 miles to save 2 cents on gas, she will drive an extra 15 minutes to use a coupon at a store so she could save 1.00, even thou she probably uses that in gas to get there, she also will go around and collect eveyones recycleable cans from the curb to take get change from it

Yikes!! Those stories are definitely the extreme! My bad habit is I worry about grocery costs, such as a bagel costs 60 or 75 cents, but will go out the next day to McDonalds and pay $5 for a bagel breakfast LOL. Its amazing how much I will pay for convenience over not having to deal with it at home!

The cheapest person I know is my sister in law. She wants everyone to buy her, hubby & the two kids good presents. But she only wants to give really cheap presents in return, or even sometimes forget to give a present at all. She got so bad, that another sister said something to her. Now they haven't talked for nearly one year.

Wow, those are great stories. Well, I am probably the cheapest person I know, but I don't think that I am stingy like some of those people in the stories, or penny-wise and pound foolish, either. I do tend to be very frugal, though. For instance, I save every clean plastic bag left over from the grocery store and reuse them many times. If I get a collection that looks like it is going to be more than we need, then I use a circle loom to knit them into various useful things. If I have a vegetable that didn't get eaten in prime and it starts to sprout, I don't throw it away, I plant it. If it is a sweet potato, which makes a very pretty houseplant, by the way, and I am picking off the leaves to encourage the plant to get more busy, I don't throw the tender young shoots away, I eat them. lol.
