Is Hong Kong a part of China?

Hong Kong is definitely a part of China. The major difference is that HK has a separated legal system and political system. Also the currency is different, Hong Kong still keeps HKD as the major currency, while China use RMB. Concerning making money online, some paid-to sites banned China IPs but Hong Kong IPs are not restricted. (But there're also some sites banning BOTH!) For the past years, Hong Kong people were considered more educated than Mainlanders, however, now China is catching up and surpassing HK in terms of quality of human resources.

I believe Hong Kong was under China since July of 1997. I never knew there are some people who would think otherwise. Where did you hear it? =)

I think Hong Kong is already back to China. However, there is a very strange rule. I don't understand why not all Chinese can go to Hong Kong freely. We need to get a visa for it and also pay for it. And only some big cities' citizens will apply for the visa easily. I don't agree to it. If all Chinese can visit Hong Kong without any problems, as well as we travel any parts all over China. Then it really means that Hong Kong is a part of us.

i don't know why are think so. it is of course that hongkong is part of china. yes ,hongkong has come back to china in 1st july 1997. i know there is different leagel sestem in hongkong. but it is good for hongkong . and it will last 50 years after it came back.

Well, I think Hong Kong has become a part of China since July 1 1997, but because it's a SAR(special administrative region), it has it's own set of rules different from mainland China. Maybe that's why people think Hong Kong isn't a part of China.
