Toddler sports - How far can you go

I have a 3 and half year old boy. He is a sensitive hyperactive boy. He wants more sports activities in a day than I can ever afford in my own time. He loves to swim in the swimming pool and get himself swimming for hours and refuses to leave the pool. After that he wants to go to the playground and plays for hours. I can't keep up with him because of my schedule, do you have any ideas on how I can managed him with his hyperactiveness?

My best friend has an 8 year old son who has been diagnosed with attention defficate hyperativity disorder (ADHD). He is a VERY active child. He wears her out to no end, and has cost her a fortune. She ended up buying him a trampoline so that he could use up all his excess energy, or a lot of it at least. She has recently had a baby, so she cant run around after him as she used to. The trampoline turned out to be a god-send. :-)
