i bought logitech speakers 5.1 and a creative audigy sound card.
Any music ive got stored in my itunes or windows media library only play on two of the speakers yet when i run a sound test there's sound coming from all five speakers.
What really baffled me was then when i downloaded a test tune from the windows media home page, there was sound coming from all five speakers (+ subw)
I've no idea what to do.
does anyone have any idea what's wrong.
thanks

Thanks for that.
Im still lost,
when i checked the website (logitech) it said stereo sources will play back throught front left and right speaker only also.
I tried playing a dvd and its the same thing.
is there any way i can get music in my windows media player or itunes to play surround. i can't find anything in the menus of either player in order to change this.
I've spent around 8 hours on the web and joined 2 other sites similiar to this, i am that desperate and you're the first to reply.
Thank you
Any more help would be greatly appreciated.

there's no way to play music through itunes or win. media in true surround. the fatc that the dvd player only plays in stereo tells me that either you only have a stereo cable connected from the dvd to the sound card or you didn't set up 5.1 playback in the dvd menu. Good luck w/ that! :)

OK.
thanks
i think it's time i gave up and at least i now know its a lost cause.
i was playin my dvds from win media player and power dvd so i dont see anything that will enable surround.
I have 3 audio output cables in my sound card, green, black and orange, the only other slot is for the mic.
thanks again
