Orkut is shutting down: Rumors or Truth?

Hello! I was a regular user of orkut, but now due to being busy with my classes and work am not using it.
Few weeks back a friend of mine was saying that orkut is shutting down. I said I don't think so because many of my friends are still using it. She said its going to close after few weeks so her friends have joined some other site (migglebox I think). Then, last week when I met her, she was saying that orkut is spreading virus. Her friend's computer has got infected. She is a kind of girl who never lies and she has seen her friend's pc being repaired.
What do you about this virus thing? Is it true?

I believed it is just a rumor not enough to cause a panic. Well if it is true, that is a sad news to bear. Hope it is not true... LOL!

hai.your friend is making u fool.Orkut will not be closed.And it will not give any viruses to personal computers.I think she is just joking.U know almost all the world is using orkut and how could they remove that.Its impossible to remove orkut.On behalf of orkut lots of friends are meeting and those friends who are missed also getting contacts because of orkut.One suggestion say to u r friend if she gets virus to her system because of orkut say her to have antivirus,so that she can protect her system.Thanking you.

My friend isn't making me fool, but I think her friend has some misunderstanding or something because my friend's friend's pc has got infected. Anyways, thanks for responding!

yes there were talks that orkut would get banned in india after various contoversies but its been lotta time and nothing has really happened..so i think nothing is gonna happen to orkut :p
