i don't like it. i think it is like a permanent scar. and i want my skin to be free from blemish. would you get a tattoo if given the chance? i won't. how about you?i heard somewhere that you cant donate blood if you have a tattoo. how true is this?

I've always considered getting a tattoo myself, if for no other reason than the experience itself really. As far as donating, there is a certain time periods one has to wait before donating blood or plasma after getting a tattoo. In most cases it's a year after getting a tattoo, but I'm not sure what the time restrictions are in other places of the country.

do you pay by design or for the size, like per square inch.???

I'd likely get a tattoo along the back, just above the shoulder blade. As far as design goes, never gave that much thought, it'd likely be something simple however as it wouldn't be something I would want to spend a terrible amount of money on.

Oh yes, I have 3 tattoo's. Very meaningful and I would consider getting more as well. Mine are very small and feminine, not covering a large area with a scull and cross bones. I think people are a little narrow minded when it comes to tattoos. Not everyone gets large biker type tattoos that cover half your body. My tattoos are small and placed where I can allow others to see them or I can hide them and you would never know I have them. Bay Lay Gray xx

Well, the rose cost $50, I got it when I was 16. The butterfly cost $75, that was is about 3 yrs old, and my star sign was $40. I got that one fairly cheap, my sisters boyfriend did it for me when I went to visit her last year. No I dont get tired of looking at them, they are pretty and colorful. When I show them, I get a lot of compliments on them. :) And I dont regret any of them, Im sure I never will.

Yes, I want a tattoo. My husband drew the design for me. As soon as we can afford it I will be getting it. My husband has donated over two gallons of blood and he has many tattoos.

oh is that right? so tattoos don't matter for blood letting? but how come you would want to spend money on getting a tattoo? just asking, don't you have other more important things to spend on? :-)

No, I don't want to get a permanent tattoo 'coz I might change my mind later and decide that the tattoo I had years back isn't good enough. But just for fun, maybe I'd put on some temporary tattoo he he he he... I don't know about donating blood when you have tattoos, though.

Tattoo when done by a good artist is art for me. However, I wouldn't consider giving myself one due to my work in the healthcare profession. Yup, blood donation is contraindicated among donors who have been tattooed in the previous 12 months leading up to their donation.

Ive got two tattoos and love them both, i think that you can have them without showing them off to everyone and can keep them private so only you know they are there .......

I don't like it either. It looks dirty. And what if I don't like the design after a few years, I'll be stuck with it forever. Besides, I'm trying my best to be flawless, with the stuff we put on our skin to be blemish free, then we'll just mark it up with something irreversible, I'll go crazy! Not to mention my parents would too. ^_^
