A week ago, I asked some of you to say a prayer for Lauren...my youngest.
She was headed to a college scholarship interview and auditions for both band and choir. The university where she went was her 2nd choice in her top 3 schools, but they called and invited her to audtion so she went, in case something happens with her top choice.
We got a letter yesterday that offered her $8,000 for band for the next 4 years. That is $1000 a semester! We are so excited. Although the cost of this particular university is a bit steep, because it's a private college, that will help!
We still haven't heard from the choral audition. Hopefully we will get that information in the next week or so. She is going to taker her ACT again on Saturday and if we can get that score up some more (She made a 24 the first time) then her academic scholarship will rise as well!
Just wanted to share the good news.

I will definately tell her that she has a fan in China. Better be careful, she be wanting to come and visit you! She has always said that she wanted to go to China. Now she is planning a trip for 2 months to Mexico to teach English.

Congratulations, prayers do help in making up for what just hard work cannot accomplish. I do hope she gets her score up and that she is able to get in the choir. I know that University is quite expensive and no one can do it on their own, and still make the best grade that they can. Is she going to specialize in Music and in what branch?

no, she is planning to double major in missions and elementary education. she wants to move to a south or central american country and teach English. it is such a good goal to have, to spread god's word in another country, but as a mother, I will always worry about her!

Oh I certainly agree. Even though we cannot shield our kids from everything this world has to offer, I don't think you should push them into those things either. Let them be trained and equipped to handle them in a Christian manner first!

She has had so many great things happening to her these last few weeks....it seems that God is sending so many blessings to her right now. I told her it was because she was determined to follow in his will and see what directions He wanted her to go in.
