So I was wondering if anyone out there have chosen godparnets for there kids.My husband and I have.We chose his sister and fince, they truely love the kids and are always ther for them.It was a big dicsion since they dont have kids of there own and are a few year younger then we are. But,we asked them and told them to think about and if they decide not to that we would not be mad or upset becasue we know its a big decison to make. The said yes.We are so happy, there is no one else that knwo are kids like they do.

I am not yet a parent, but I have godparents too. I believe I have lots of them, since I've forgotten their number. It's a part of our tradition here, back then to keep my parents' friends intact with them and they could all totally be supporting one another.
Right now, I'm also a godparent and have 56 godchildren's as of this time. It's fun to have them, since I was also entitled to guide them (kids) and help support them in the future.

Here in the Philippines, we usually choose the closest friends and relatives to become godparents of our children. My fiance is an American. Sometime last month, my brother chose him to become a godfather of his baby girl. My fiance was so proud and happy to accept! He is now an official "ninong" to a baby. "Ninong" is what we call a godfather, and "Ninang" for a godmother. I posted the pictures of that day my fiance became a "Ninong" at http://www.paulynramirez.com/the-new-ninong/

It's a big decision who to chose as the Godparents for your children. I'm glad that you have made a good choice. Three of our four children have Godparents (my step daughter's mother never took care of that, she's almost 19, so I guess she'll never have any). My oldest daughter's Godparents are a man and his wife who were great friends with my parents. I was 19 when my daughter was born (she's 22 now), and really didn't know anyone close to my age that was responsible enough. For my oldest son (he's 19 now), my first husband and I chose the brother he was closer to and my older sister, since she was so much more responsible than my younger sister. For our youngest child (he's 9 now), my husband and I chose a couple that he has known for over 20 years. They're great, he really loves them, and we see them fairly often. They have really taken an interest in his life, I think more so than my other children's Godparents. I think that's so important too, a Godparent should be involved in some way and have an interest in all aspects of their Godchild's life.

My Fiance sister just had a baby boy and she has asked us to be godparents, of course we said yes right away. We both don't have kids and we have tried many times but with no success so we are going to put all our efforts into being god parents instead of parents, wish us luck!
Love from scotland everyone xxx
