I've seen two shows lately that went on and on about how mid-life is a great time for women. Just last week Oprah had a whole show on how great menopause will be....Puhleeeeeeeze! I've had a few thoughts of my own and would like to share them with you. Whether you are pushing 40, 50, 60, 70 (or maybe even just pushing your luck), you'll probably relate.
Mid-life is when the growth of hair on our legs slows down.
This gives us plenty of time to care for our newly acquired mustache.
In mid-li fe women no longer have upper arms, we have wing spans.
We are no longer women in sleeveless shirts, we are flying squirrels in drag.
Mid-life is when you can stand naked in front of a mirror and you can see your rear without turning around.
Mid-life is when you go for a mammogram and you realize that this is the only time someone will ask you to appear topless.
Mid-life is when you want to grab every firm young lovely in a tube top and scream, "Listen honey, even the Roman empire fell and those will too"
Mid-life brings wisdom to know that life throws us curves and we're sitting on our biggest ones.
Mid-life is when you look at your know-it-all, beeper-wearing teenager and think: "For this I have stretch marks?"
In mid-life your memory starts to go. In fact the only thing we can retain is water.
Mid-life means that your Body By Jake now includes Legs By Rand McNally -- more red and b lue lines than an accurately scaled map of Wisconsin.
Mid-life means that you become more reflective . . . You start pondering the "big" questions.
What is life?
Why am I here?
How much Healthy Choice ice cream can I eat before it's no longer a healthy choice? hmm,i sure do eat alot of ice cream lol.mid-life is so many things.
mid-life can be fun but also missearble too,lol
But mid-life also brings with it an appreciation for what is important. We realize that breasts sag, hips expand and chins double, but our loved ones make the journey worthwhile. Would any of you trade the knowledge that you have now, for the body you had way back when? Maybe our bodies simply have to expand to hold all the wisdom and love we've acquired. That's my philosophy and how i think it is sometimes, but then again who knows.what do you think mid-life is?
Have A Nice Day!i thought it would make you laugh, pattie

Hi Sweet,
Thanks for sharing, that was great! I have been in a great mood since my daughters trip to the Doc yesterday and finding out she's all better but the extra laugh was great. My favourite one was ...
" We are no longer women in sleeveless shirts, we are flying squirrels in drag."

That was good, especially about the spider veins, and the big upper arms bit. I can relate to that. Yes and now I have to wear a support bra. It is a good thing that now they are making them to uplift. Oh and the double chin bit. Now you know why I do not smile that much. That double chin pops up like a well, big red thing.

At 60 years old I have to agree with a lot of what you say. If we take care of our bodies we won't have the flabby arms, double chins or sagging anything.I am very proud of my 60 year old body and still wear mini skirts and tank tops...I never had a mustache (I think that's more of a genetic thing), the hair on my legs definitely hasn't slowed down growing although that wouldn't be a bad thing,...lol..I HAVE been asked to appear topless and not just at my mamogram either!....I have no veins in my legs and that's another either genetic or work related problem, I don't have to watch my weight and never did...another genetic related item. You are right about one thing....we have loads of wisdom and love to give. Midlife to me is having a lot less things to worry about since my kids are grown and on their own. I get to have a good time with my grandkids and know that their parents are eventually going to take them home and I can do whatever I want to do.

Thanks for long and nice narration about mid-life identifications.
For me mid-life is just valuable time for our turn to contribute our thoughts about having good life and share it with people and networkings.
Money matters people can find for opportunities to go for it, but life experience is the first and foremost things to have. I mean through experience-talking is much better than tongue-speaking. As result speaks itself.
