Waking up 4am to go to the market....

I have been waking up as early as 4am to buy something for breakfast.Have you tried this?I have been doing this for almost one month now and twice a week, since I have the turn to cook for 7 people twice a week. And since we dont have refrigirator we are forced to buy the fresh stuff in the market which is just a walking distance from where I live.
AT first I find it strange to walk on the streets this early and see joggers and people who work on night shift. Its cold but I enjoy the walk and enjoy the cold breeze that touches my skin.
In the market there are already busy people around buying things and its crowded than the usual hours in the market. I love waking up early and cooking food for 7 people, its like sharing your life with them and serving them. I never thought that things could be like this.
The past week I have to go as early as 4am to buy food and cook for them since I reported for work at 6am, so it gives me an hour a a half to prepare food and half an hour to prepare for work, im just glad the office is just a block away and I just have to walk and never worry about traffic and stuff like that.
Have a nice day and happy mylotting to all!

Morning Zelmarq. You really get up too early in the morning. I never get up that early. But my father does every day and goes to exercise in his favorite park and comes back home from exercise at after seven. My father has been getting up so early for many years. I always ask him not to, but it doesn't work since his bio-clock helps him wake up at more than three in the morning.
It is really good that you enjoy getting up that early and going to the market for shopping, but I wonder whether you would feel sleepy and tired at about lunch time since you don't have enough sleep. For me, yes if I get up that early and I would like to sleep at about more than ten or eleven. Have a good day, dear Zelmarq.

Thanks for the response, but I would like to have you tell me the vegetable next to the cucumber shown in the picture. We have this vegetable as well, but I have been trying to get to know its name. Since I happen to see it there in the picture, I think that you would not mind telling about the name, yes? Thank you very much.

I have shopped early in the mornngs some where like aroun 3 in 93 when me and HUbby first came to Las Vegas We werent use to the heat that sometimes stayed 104 all night long. So to beat teh heat and long lines we would get upa nd go shopping but we didnt walk had to ride for the stores were about 5 miles from us in different direction.
and when we lived on the farm getting upa t 4 in the morning to cook was the normal thing to do so we could get ready for the days work ahead o fus which usually started as soon as we could see to get to the feild. and if we worked away from the house we had plenty of time to eat get ready for work and drive the 13 miles to the job . Its just nice to g4et up early and greet the day!

WOW! That's early!
And that's a lot of people to cook for too :)
I think it's great that you are doing this though.
It really brings you all closer I bet.
And it must really suck to be without the refrigerator too!

You are very workchaholic doing that every day? And it seems that you enjoy it so I think it is not tiring for you. I buy food in the wet market too but only once a week because I store the food in our refrigerator. Like you, I too wake up early around 5 am to 6 am to buy early. You can save a lot if you cook food than buy outside.

Im just living in a boarding house and the land lady did not provide ay for us, so we have to settle on buying the fresh stuff from the market everyday. We do have a refrigirator back home and its something that we use to keep our food fresh.

I havfe to get up at 4.00 am to take my daughter to swimming training. It's kind of weird getting up that earl;y but I like it now.
First I go down to the family room & make a coffee. Whilst I am boiling the water, I get dressed. I wake up my daughter too. She lies in her bed until the last moment.
As I am drinking my cofeee I read my latest novel.
When my daughter comes down, I make sure I have all her swimming gear ready.
Then off we go. In winter it was very dark & cold at that houyr, sometimes frezing. Now it is spring & it is getting light even at 4.30am.

I do not get up early to go to work. I used to get up at six when I was in Vancouver when I was in my twenties because it took so long to get to work on the bus, and I lived in the suburbs. I had to be there before nine and I was a secretary, but I have never gotten up at four am.
I guess when you do not have a fridge, you have to get up early every day to buy food, especially when food spoils so quickly. And to go to work after that.
It is a good thing you live close to work and to see all the people busy in the markets.

Its what I love about this area that I live in right now, its close to my workplace, just near the market and shopping malls. I dont have to travel far to buy what I need for work and for the home. Aside form the cheap rents, we also enjoy the pollution free city and environment.

I always wake up early to prepare our breakfast. Since we already have a refrigerator to store food and stuff, I buy in the afternoon the things I needed in the following morning. But I have also experienced going to store or market at early morning to buy something to cook when we run out of stock.

I know I have been waking up early every day..but it's not to go to the market..I have found though, when I want to go shopping at Walmart..the best time to go is like really really early before there is time for the parking lot to be full and parking spaces are all taken up.
I like Walmat..but hate their parking lot..never any where to park if you go during the day.

I may be a little strange, but that sounds wonderful to me. I like to get up early and get a good start on the day. The walking would be so healthy, too. What time do you get off work?

I used to do that when my Grandma was still with us. (Oooh i missed my grandma). She and I used to wake up very early in the morning in order to buy ingredients for her cooking. Usually, we really can get the best and fresh stuff in the market when we were so much early than others. I would like to add that my grandma was a good cook. :-)

Wow , grand mas are like that, they always have those qaulities that we young people dont have, and I just hope that when you grow old there will come a chance that you will also be like your grand ma. Grand mas do have this influence and experience that can bless the younger generation.

Yes, very true, at time time in the morning most of the people are sleeping soundly and dreaming while me already walking to the market to but food for the people. Wow i have appreciated the moms who cook every day for their children, this experience humbled me and have taught me to have discipline even if its only twice a week. It could be a lifestyle and I will soon get used to it.
