I used to do it.
When you get someone rude for example, when someone says "Were right in the middle of dinner", I've said "great, what are you having?" (they always hang-up and I laugh)
One guy called me a list of filthy names, and I said "you got me confused with your mother"!
Usually, I try to remind people that I'm just trying to make an honest living, I'm not trying to rip them off, kill their dog, sleep with their husband, ect.
A polite "no thanks" is best. If you get too dramatic, your only making everyone in the calling office laugh.
However, if they continue to call, after you asked them nicely to stop, then be sure to report it.
