I understand some families choose not to celebrate Halloween? Why is that? The original satanic undertones of the holiday have long since gone away. It is an innocent holiday for children to have fun. Why make your children feel left out while everyone else is having harmless fun?

I think what is really sad and pathetic when it comes to how some ppl view Halloween is the fact that they think it was and is a "Satanic" thing when the reality and truth of the matter is that it never was...Samhain (Halloween) has and always will be my all time fav holiday..its a very special, spiritual, personal day for us in this house...

Personally i don't like the idea of encouraging children to knock on strangers' doors asking for treats - it just goes against everything we tell them about not talking to people we don't know. Secondly, whilst most people are law abiding we do read reports about older kids harassing elderly people who live alone and can be intimidated by this -so no, i wouldn't encourage my child to do it and he doesn't feel 'left out' at all.

Halloween is what you make of it. I mean it's not like you are going to sacrifice an animal or pray to the devil.
You are going to have a party with cupcakes and dress up in costume and make it a fun evening for the kids.
I think religious people should relax about it.
The kids are not going to grow up to be satan worshipers because of it.
