"The Pill" for 11-yr-olds in Maine

A local school board in Maine voted to give birth control pills without parental consent or notification to children as young as 11. The school defends itself by saying that parents released the children to be given health care when necessary. What do you think? Do parents have any rights over their children's health care, even at 11?
