I'm Italian and I am graduated in Italian literature, so I know very well the italian language :-)
I think that for some non-italian people it's a not easy language to learn but it's very beautiful. However, for who study Latin, it's simple to learn Italian. I'm very glad that you like my language.
Ciao da Roma! :-)

My best friend is Italian, we went to school together and when I asked her to teach me to speak italian she told me I only need to know one sentence and it was " Come here I love love you" in Italian years later I took up volunteering in a nursing home where there were quite a few italian residents, I used to go round and try and cheer people up as they didn't get a lot of visitors, I can still see the smiles I used to get when I would say to them " I can speak italian" and then I would say my only little line and some would think it so funny especially the Italian men they would take my hand and kiss it with tears in their eyes. I went on to learn about 6 other lines in different languages, I learnt to say hello to every non Australian in the nursing home, I will never forget the joy that a few words could do.

I've been to Italy when I was about 10. Even though i was still young then, I really appreciate the holy places like St. Peter's Basilica and Sistine Chapel. I also remembered I threw a coin in the fountain there, I forgot the name but I remember it's near the Spanish Steps I think. They say if you threw a coin there, you'll have a chance to go back there. But, 7 years passed, im still not back there yet. hehehehe.. Italy is a really wonderful place. =) I really wanna go back!

Yes, I've been to Italy and I like the country! So many interestimg places- Venice, Florence, Pisa, Assisi, Rome, The Vatican. I wish to go back if I have the money and time. I truly admire the artistry of Italian churches and buildings. Very beautiful! I don't know the language. I wish I could learn it, even some phrases only.

I have been to Italy last July 2007. I like it. It's a beautiful country. We came to Italy via France. We were lucky enough to be sent by our company to southern France and from Nice, France we drive to Milan, Italy. It's a winding road, through the mountains and lots of tunnel. After 5 hours driving we arrive in Milan.
In Milan, we visited the Duomo, the Galleria Vittorio Emmanuelle and Castello Sforzescos. We meet some friends in Duomo and help us get around the plaza. We have only a taste of Italy because that day we need to drive back to France. It is still a very good experience and I wanted to be back to Italy. Maybe visit Rome, Venice and Florence.

I went to Italy a few years ago with my family. We landed in Rome and we stayed in a very posh hotel on the Via Veneto. We had fantastic views from our hotel window. We also visited the Vatican. Very impressive!
After a few days spent in Rome we made our way by coach to Sorrento. Along the way to Sorrento we stopped in Naples to look at its famous bay and we also had time to visit the famous ruins of Pompei. We also went on a boat ride to visit the island of Capri.
Next time I am planning to visit Venice, Florence and Tuscany in general.

I lived in south-central Italy for 3 years when I was in grade school, and was fortunate enough to visit again when I was in college. I really enjoyed my time in Italy. The people are friendly and warm-hearted, the language is beautiful, and the culture is so rich and steeped in history. And the food!!! You just can't get bad food in Italy! Part of my heart stayed there when we left. Viva Italia!
