That Little Something You've Never Done Alone: Seen A Movie?

I don't like going places on my own. But life forces us, of course. No one wants to accompany me to the supermarket so I have to shop alone. It's like all eyes are on me, brrrr yuck! Anyhow, there's two things I have yet to conquer, so to speak: I've never seen a movie by myself and I've never sat in a restaurant with just me. And you, is there something you have not done alone?

I have done a lot of things alone, watched movies a couple of times, eaten in restaurants too, lived alone when I was in grad school. If I travel alone, there is no likelihood there will be someone I can dine with all the time, so ...it's not like you can prevent that, unless you drag your friends everywhere you go! As for watching a movie alone, I have to say, for me it doesn't seem like the ideal thing, even though you don't really talk to the person, but it's just not something I prefer to do alone....maybe it's a "head" thing...because really there should be nothing wrong with that! If there is anything I have NOT done alone is spend Christmas day! LOL It's always with family or with friends...and I really wouldn't have it any other way!

Yeah, maybe it is a "head" thing. I get lonely too, and I don't like being the only one around. Which is strange because I am sort of a loner. Go figure. And I'm glad you get to spend Christmast day with family. That's how it should be. Ironically, that is something I've done alone. sigh.

That is ironic indeed. Yes I am very glad to spend Christmas with family and friends. I hope you didn't get to spend too many Christmases alone. The holidays in general are not good for being alone, unless you like being alone!

I have done a lot of things alone. I have never traveled alone though. Even when I went on the bus to see my aunt out in the country, there were people in the bus as well. I have shopped alone, and eaten at a restaurant alone, but come to think of it, I never ate alone because there were people around me. So except for taking a bath, being in my own washroom, going for a walk, most of the time there was someone around.

Now you've brought up something. People are usually alone when on the bus. I mean they're not with someone they know. I don't like going for a walk alone either. Looks like you enjoy these things.

I haven't been to a movie alone since I was a child that is. I do occasionally dine alone in a restaurant. My past job required overnight stays in other towns and I had to often dine alone. I love to shop alone. Maybe it is time to go to a movie alone again.

If you go to a movie alone, let us know how that felt. Are you getting used to dining out alone? Maybe it won't be as bad as I think. Mmmm. Have a good weekend.

I have seen a movie alone. YOu don't sit there and chat with the person you talk to that much during a movie do you? Whats the difference with sitting there alone? Most recently I saw Ratatouilli alone, but I've seen others. Anyhow. I have never gone to a restaurant alone. That's just something I don't want to do. I don't eat out often anyhow and I just, I think restaurants are a conversational place and it's weird to be there alone. I think Restaurants are about the only thing i haven't done alone.

Yeah, I know you're right about the movie thing. But have you noticed there's not too many people alone in a theather? For some reason I just feel so uncomfortable by myself even though I think I would enjoy it. Mmmm, I confuse myself most of the time. Thanks for sharing, Raychill.

It's true. There aren't a lot of people alone. But just as "everyone else is doing it"... why not be different since "no one else is doing it"?

You are a very outgoing young man, aren't you? Nice for mom and dad to leave a chunck of money. Franco's sounds a little uptown. Glad you enjoyed. You have style, my friend.

I've never gone to a movie alone but many times have eaten in a restaurant alone. I wouldn't go into a fancy restaurant alone in an area away from our house.

There was only one time in my life I saw a movie alone. That was way back when I was in high school. I had this crazy crush over a new Filipino celebrity-actor. When he got married to his co-host in his evening variety show, I was so heartbroken! They had their first movie together, and in that movie, they included the video and pictures of their wedding day. I saw that movie alone. And the funny thing about it is that I was crying while watching that movie...LOL! After that, I never, ever watched a movie alone. But I do eat in restaurants alone when I'm really hungry but that rarely occurs.

Wow, traveling by yourself. That's a little scary too. I've been thinking of it recently since I might have to travel up North for the weekend. Flying by myself!!! Eeeeck. Hope I survive. Thanks for your input.

I have seen a movie alone once. I have eaten alone at a restaurant ONCE. It was a Chinese place on my lunch break. I actually prefer to go shopping alone.

I've gone to supermarkets alone, sat in restaurants alone, and seen a movie alone. Sometimes I just like going by myself to places, even though watching movies is definitely MUCH more fun with a friend or more than one friend. However, if I can't find someone to go with me, I won't let it stop me from enjoying myself he he he... However, I've never gone to bars/pubs alone. :-))))

I can understand not being in a restaurant or going to a movie by yourself. My advies, don´t do it. Why? Because I have. Once I went to an Italian restaurant by myself. I was asked if I was waiting for someone! I was so imbarresed. But why can´t a women go out alone? If a man does it, there is no problem, but when we do it ... In the supermarket I learned to not care if people stare at me.LOL. They have nothing beter to do, that is there problem. I have just as much right to be there as they do. Oke, and what I have not done alone? Good question, what have I never done alone? I am an only child. I learned very jong to do everything alone. And know that I am old,(LOL) I realize I have had alot of advantage from this experience. Somehow, I always have something to do. Nog een fijne dag toegewenst. Groetjes Margajoe.

I would never go out to eat alone. I'd feel too alone and it would be sad. Movies are dark, and most people can't see who is there

I don't have any problems going out alone. I go to the supermarket alone, it's no big deal. Sometimes I have also eaten out on a hamburger chain, by myself. Though it was just a quick snack. Going to the theater by myself, though is one thing. I can see and understand why you don't want to go there alone. I don't want to either. It just seems weird that watching a movie and not have anybody to go with. I don't really know the reason why.

Same goes here i have never seen a movie alone or eaten in a restaurant alone, however there are many things i do enjoy doing without kids and hubby in tote and that is grocery shopping or perhaps even shopping in general i can get in and get out without the hassle of i want or wondering where they ran off to etc. but i can not see myself now or anytime soon alone in the theaters or restaurannt!

I have never seen a movie alone. I would rather go with someone to enjoy the movie. I have sat in a restaurant alone, when I was working I would take a book with me or a newspaper to read while I ate, but most often I didn't like eating alone. Going to the supermarket or shopping doesn't bother me so much when I am alone. I can go to whatever shops I like and buy whatever I like with no one tagging behind or wanting to go to other shops. But still it is fun to go with a friend.
