Wow, I guessed as I was reading because I remember everything he was talking about.....I'm also 60 and yes, those really were much more fun times than now....life was at a slower pace and you were much more relaxed where you could think clearly.....not like today. Families were really families and neighbors were really neighbors. The pressures of today keep building and there is so much going on its a wonder people are taking so many pills for depression, anxiety, plus all the new mental illnesses they're coming up with that you never even heard of back then. It's really very sad to see all this now. Yes, them were the good old days!

Sure do thnk all were happier back then and not is such a hurry f or the fast pace is driving poeple to distraction when they sould focus on family and not just work and more work I know we need the money but have to slow down to get the family values going again

I remember all those things and a lot more. I remember when the junk man came to pick up our throwaways in a horse and a wagon. I also remember ice boxes and I can recall when margarine came out, it was called oleo margarine and mom had to mix it with a package of yellow coloring, that it tasted horrible, and still does. I like the modern conveniences but I hate when people no longer want to attend church and that our moral compass has gone down the tubes.

dont remeber what we did with our trash back then but I do know we had an ice box for the Ice man came to bring a big block of ice and carried it with the tongs. Oleo oh yes I used to squish the yellow stuff in it to mix it. I think some times the popcorn bags that ya put in the micro smell just like oleo.

Wow! that was really cool. Things have change I know. During my childhood days... computer is something taht only rich people could have. We dont play online game. I just play with my dolls, o bike with my friends, or play hide and seek. There is no cd, only tapes. And we usually enjoy it more singing with one friend playing guitar. Those days are no where to be found nowadays.

thats so true nowadays the kids set in the house and get fat playing witht hier Play stations or what ever they have now and mom nad dads wonder why they have sickly kids! Getting out playing hard help them keep weight off and also helps their whole mental and phisicle selfs . No wonder the kids are now growing up weaklings! 20 and 30 year olds are afraid of hard labor they all want cushion jobs. Singing with friends has gone out the window . GOne are the days ya could just go holler for your friends to come out and play. We just know the names of the kids next door but none of the others on the block. Where our parents knew everyone on the block across the way and sometimes the other side of town. We never even heard of computers when I was growing up, No tv till I was about 14 tehn my dad built it. lol we did have the phone but mostly for the grown ups to use.
