I lost my beutiful dog Wed.
HE was 15 years and 15 days old. All wendsday night he paced the floot in here and knocked over every thing and would look at the wall slike they were to move to let him out .
So early MOrning had PHillip tak him out side and after he got there all he did was howl so we brought him back in and all he did was howl to get back out side. so we put him back outside in the front yard . and he would lay in one spot and poop laying down and then move to another spot did the same thing.
HE had also turn head over heals over his water bowl and got stuck upsie down so that I had to pull on him tho get him un stuck.
I knew it was time and daughter called vets till we found one that was able to take him that after noon.
Oh I have been thinking he was gonna die soon but boyI just couldnt face up to it even after being up all night woht him in this problem he was having. but I knew it had to be done. So we took him to the vet and they agreed there was nothing else to do for him. and as I didnt have the money right then had to fill out a credit report .
It was so hard to let him go. as he sat under me all the time. and we had,had very enjoyable days together setting in the sun or watching him running aoround he was so white the when the sun was on him it hurt your eyes . and in the snow he looked like a big white snowball jumping thru it.
now Am am saying good bye dear froend now you will be up there with daddy and apache so you wont be alone.
hugs and loves I will miss you dearly
Well I have tried and tred to upload his pic and it knocks it out of file name as soon as I hit upload!

Oh, Lakota,...I'm crying here at your loss....It's SO HARD to say good-bye to one of our beloved pets...but now he's not in pain...as he must have been to have howled like that...Just think, he is now in Rainbow Bridge, and maybe he's playing with my kitties who are there too and one day the two of us will see our friends when we pass on as well
(((hugs)))

I have been meaning to stop by and now I finally have a bit of time to do so. You mentioned in an e-mail that you had to put him down...and I am so sorry to hear that his time had come. It is so hard to see our beloved furry family members deteriorate...just as it is with anyone we love.
My heartfelt condolences go out to you...especially with everything else you have going on. To hear how he was behaving it sounds as though he also knew it was time for him to transition to the next realm...but it is never easy. We have a Lab/Shepherd cross that we have thought was close to her time...then she somehow rebounds. Her hindquarters are getting weaker and she often falls over but doesn't seem to be in any pain. Hopefully we can have her with us for awhile longer although she is into her 16th year and we're not sure how well she will fare during the winter months. Even going out to do her business with amount of snow we get will be tough for her.
So dear friend I share our Tasha story with you because your story reminds me of what you've been going through. I am sorry about the loss of your beloved companion...but as you say now he is with your hubby and other loved ones and no longer suffering.
Take care my friend..I have included a photo of our old girl with another dog we had to put down awhile back. Tasha is the tan female on the right. The other dog is Meishka a Husky/Irish Wolfhound cross that we had to put down about 3 years ago. If you can post a photo of your special furry friend...we'd all like to see it. It could be a living memorial for him and all the years you shared together.
Hugs, love, light...

Hi again...
As an afterthought I was wondering if it would provide comfort for you to check out this site. It is about a woman who can intuit our animals from the other side. If nothing else it provides comfort and some confirmation for those of us who believe animals...like people have an afterlife.
Here is is:

Anyway warm, loving regards to you and your beloved friend.

such beautiful dogs!
and I get to get White Fangs Ashes tomorrow.
As they called late to day saying they were back.
I thought I had a pic of him in my profile but nope I dont that oic is of the 2 chows the cream colored on eis fater to the black one.
Losing him hurt butthen I think I was prepared for him to go awhile back and I do know he is out of pain and with Hubby.
I will have to download my pictures again as when I turned on puter late last night it did a recovey of puter and none of the photos stayed in pics also lost all my folders in outlook express along with all my peoples email addys.
Found out for some reason F10 was stuck and that why it did the recovery mode.
I have seen this lady on TV. Thanks for link but AS I already think him as being with Donald I cant spend 35$ for a season.
hugs and blessings

Hi again..
I am sure you are missing him a lot. I know when Meishka had to go we felt the same way. We still miss him at times he was such a cute, goofy dog that loved to act up and make people laugh.
So I am sure getting the ashes back will help. We have his ashes in our home too in a wolf urn I did at ceramics class. Seemed appropriate with him being partly Irish 'wolf' hound.
So just know our thoughts and well wishes continue to be with you...and I am sure your hubby and your dog are enjoying their re-uniting. It is good you have a measure of peace in seeing them together.
I am sure your dog will be back to visit...we know Meishka is back when the cats start acting strange and chasing his spirit around. LOL
Hugs and blessings dear friend,
Raia

15years and 15 days, what a coincidence if that be. Like a member of a family to you already. May you find comfort in the good memories you have shared together. Let go and pray you will have another comforter sent to you. Thank God for the joy your dear dog shared with you and let go, move forward and may God Bless you with more.

It is really sad when a dog has been part of the family ever since the kids were little, and then you have to have him put to sleep. I was attached to our dog, and when Jessie got too old, I thought, well maybe she will just lie down and close her eyes and never wake up, but it might be that God designed dogs to die in action, like getting run over by cars, or getting attacked by a bigger animal, but not to die naturally because she lived past the twentieth year in human terms.
I remember that one time when she was young, she ran away, and the boys were so sad, they cried until we found her.
Oh uploading, you have to make the picture small enough --like 200 x-- and put some tags in as well.

Sweets,
I am so sorry for your loss.
You have had a hard time this past year and this is another blow..
I know that you must have a load of great memories of him.
You were lucky to have him so long.
I also have an old dog..Shunk Skouii is a 15 year old golden that I have had since she was 6 weeks old..She turned 15 in July...
I know that her last breath is not too far away but I just love her while she is with me and when she is gone I will remember the years we had together..
My heart goes out to you Doll..Know that I am sending prayers your way.

I empathize with you, lakota. I know how it feels like when we lose a pet, must be the same feeling as when one loses his/her child.
That's the one reason i have decided not to rear pets. Their life-span is very short, they leave us soon. When they are with us, they win all our love and one-day leave us without a clue. They can't even share their pain while dying, for they cannot talk like us. We can't understand what they are going through, whether to give them a mercy-kill or to retain them letting them suffer. The pain is intense:(
I advise you to not look at your dogs's photographs time and again. The more you see, the more will you feel his loss and absence.
I hope you have recovered from his loss, by now.

You know, sometimes you come across postings and you just get a feeling that the person believes in this. It makes me very happy to hear about your visit and I'm glad you are one of those people.
Too many miss out on this wonderful part of being able to communicate.
Take care.

Hi,
I know exactly how you feel as I had my beautiful George put down only 5weeks ago because he had cancer, he was 18yrs old and my best mate. the rainbow bridge poem is very beautiful and one day I will see George there and we will be reunited. Same goes with you and your boy.
Yes George has visited me since, only the other night I was outside and would have sworn I saw him laying on his favorite rocker.

so sorry for your loss.. its such a difficult thing to deal with.. I lost Buddy my Collie/Cross May 27, he was 12 and I had, had him from 3 months old.. He had a respiratory attack or something I watched him struggle for over two hours and it was heartbreaking for me.. He had been really sick about two weeks before that but managed to pull through with medication.. I know what you mean though when you say you knew it was coming so did I but how do you prepare yourself for something like that..
Do you have a other pets? I have another dog and its been very difficult on her as well and now I am looking at having to get her put to sleep as she has out of control skin allergies and I don't know what else I can do..
Again my sympathies on your loss please take care.. If it helps I made a little memorial thing for my dog i found a poem I really liked and put his pic and some of his fur in a picture frame and then I hung hid dog collar on the corner kind of like a tribute to him for all the years of love he gave me..

I am so sorry about the loss of your old friend. I lost mine about four years ago too. It was so hard! He had cancer and I tried to make him as comfortable as I could until my son was good enough to take him and have him put down in the vets office. It was orginally his dog...but when he moved he left him here and be became my good old friend. Just know I am thinking of you!
