Are Basset Hounds mischevious or just bored??? :)

I`ve got 2 Basset Hounds and they get into mischief all the time,and i read online that they do this when they are "bored." Share your stories & I would love to share mine :)

Sorry, I just saw your post and had to respond. I have only been with mylot a short time so I am still exploring many different areas of interest that I have.
I have to agree with you. We have a Basset Hound and boy does he like to get into things when we aren't at home. His latest he likes to pull things off of the counter top. It is amazing some of the things he gets.
He has gotten to the point recently that if he steals something and one of the family finds him with his treasure, we try to take it away and well, he doesn't like that so much, he will go after us. I talked to the vet and was told that in part it is because of his age and the fact that well, its his, he found it. They can be quite greedy that way.
No matter what he does, we still love him like crazy. He is going on 8 now and wow, what a character he is.

Yes they are bored I have a basset and she is about 10 or 11 now and her new thing is licking she will lay down anywhere and start licking her belly she has a nice round raw spot now and it is hell getting her to stop and I know she is just bored but she no longer wants to play.
