Should your mother make you pick between her and your own husband?

That is totally inappropriate for your mother to have put you in a postion to choose. You mother gave birth to you but you made a vow before God with your husband to leave your family and cleave unto your husband. Unless your husband was doing something to harm you her or children. My mother put me in a similar situation years ago. I too choose my husband. My husband and my mother still do not get along but I dont let it effect my relationship with either one of them.

Oh, she tried to make me choose. But when she realized I was ready to choose him, she stepped back.. I guess she didn't think I had the guts to do it. Guess she didn't know me well that time. Anyway, if she tried that one more time, I wouldn't change my opinion and still pick him. I know, it's my mother, she gave birth to me, she raised me, many would say that I am doing the most horrible thing on earth by choosing my boyfriend instead of her, but if she were as wise as a mother should be and she would respect me as a mother should respect her child, then she wouldn't force me into making this kind of decisions.

no definitely not!! u should have to make such a decision!! it must have been a really serious reason for your mom to do that!! but u def should have to make a choice! if u love them both u should stay with both!!

well surely she should not,but if my mother would do something like that,I would pick my husband too.
