Rent Movies

Do you rent movies from Block Buster, New Flix, or a local movie rental place? What type of program are you using to rent your movies? Do you rent movies on-line? Tell me about the movies you rent and how often fo you rent them. Are there any side benefits to renting these movies?
I have Blockbuster on-line. I rent 2 movies at a time, return them to the store and get to pick to free movies that I would like to watch for free. Then I get 2 movies in the mail, watch them, return them to the store and pick 2 more free movies.
I like this program because the movies come to me, and I return them to the store and pick up 2 movies to watch while I wait for more movies in the mail.
Does Net Flix have a similar program? Have you tried both of these rental places or just one?
Please, share your views on this topic with us.

Im' weird. I don't believe in renting or borrowing much. I don't know. I've never understood borrowing an outfit from your friend to wear because like, you'll wear it once then you'll give it back. If you like it, why not just have it to wear whenever? Same goes for movies. If I want to see a movie I'll go to the movie theaters, buy it or wait for it to come on tv. Why rent it and never be able to watch it again? I've just never really been into the renting thing. I don't use the library unless it's for research in which I don't care about books I borrow other than needing it for a short period of time while I do research.
So I don't rent movies. If I did I'd use blockbuster because I've always been pretty faithful to them. I use them for cheap previewed dvd's.

Hi raychill,
The reason I rent movies is to see if I like them, then I buy the ones I will watch over and over. I can't see the sense of buying a movie to only watch it once. I can do that at the theatre.
I appreciate your point of view. You are entitled to your opinion and I respect that.

obviously. and that's what I did. Stated my opinion.
I don't buy a movie and watch it only once. I watch all my movies multiple times.
If it's a movie I don't know if I'll like..I watch it on TV.
I, too, wouldn't buy a dvd I planned on only watching once.

Exactly! That is what I meant by I rent a movie, then I buy it. Different people may have a different ways of viewing something. I personally don't go to the movies very much, maybe twice a year. That is my situation, and how I handle it.

I want to get DSL but for me to get it I would have to pay 2 internet bills one at work and 1 at home with dial up I can use it anywhere that is why I don't get it. I'm not making enough money online to pay for it if I was I would get both

Hi Cajun,
Having dial-up is a hold up. Cable is a little easier and quicker, but more spendy. It depends on your situation as to which one you have. As long as you get movies to watch when you want to, then it is worth it.

I like to rent it first, if I have not seen it, then decide if I will watch it again. Some movies I will watch only one time. These I will not buy. I collect the ones I will enjoy watching over and over.

I use two of the local video stores in town. I will never use Block Buster again, do to many problems me and my parents had in the past. I've heard many good things about NetFlixs and have been meaning to try it sometime.

Hi Chris,
Too bad about your experience with Blocbuster. I have heard good things about Net Flix, but I have not tried it yet. At least you have 2 good video stores that are local. And you may not have to wait too long for New Releases. Thanks for sharing with us.

I had netflix for a few months but since they always take the money out asap it got too rough because I didn't have time for the movies and they kept taking money from me. I'll probably join again later.

I know what you mean, money first. It doesn'e\t matter if you have time to use the service or not, money comes first..

I use Blockbuster Total Access, and I love it. I really enjoy being able to take the movies right to Blockbuster when I am done with them and get new ones. I've used NetFlix in the past and really like them, too. It all depends, I think, on if you want to drive to Blockbuster to pick up new movies while you are waiting for the others in the mail or if you want to wait for the new movies to arrive in the mail only.

I like Blockbuster's Total Access too. Most of the time I don't mind driving over to get new movies. Then I get new ones in the mail.

Hi rashidjamiri,
I find that if you don't know about something, then this is the place to find out about it. Good luck in your search.
