Is it just me or have the youth gone wild? Could it be just certain areas or maybe depended upon the laws of the area in which we live?Seems to me the more parental rights that are taken away the wilder they get. Then to make things worse the kids are on to what they're rights are and know how to manipulate them to their benefit. They (in my oppinion) are becoming the authority in a family. What's your oppinion?

I would have to agree with you. Today's kids are so out of control because parents either don't care what their kids do or they are terrified of discipling them due to state laws and stuff like that. Saying you can't spank your child and calling it child abuse is just wrong. How do you think we all grew up. YOu did something wrong, you were punished either by being spanked or by grounding...considering how bad the thing was that you did. Parents have taken to heart that you can't spank your kids anymore and kids have used that to their advantage. Some kids need a good spanking every once in a while to get them back into line and I think it's wrong of those who say that it is wrong to discipline your children in that way. That is why most kids today do not respec their parents and feel they have total control over them. If I had talked to my mother the way I have heard kids today talk to theirs, she would have knocked me through a wall and I would have deserved it. there is so much disrespect these days. parents try to be more friends than they do to parent. It really saddens me to see how today's generation is growing up

Okay, I'm not the only one! Your on the same page. Almost word for word! Another thing that troubles me is that the less they respect people and authority, the more kids turn to the streets and get into legal trouble at a much earlier age. The icing on the cake: they are making the laws so that us parents are responsible for what our children do until age 21! We get punished in the end for having to raise our kids their way! They are doing away with the PINS and I hear as of the year 2009 they are doing away with G.E.D.'s (this could be good or bad; I'm undecided). Ugh!
