I do remember my daughter getting fever, tender gums, diarrhea and a lot of colds when she started getting her teeth in. She cried a lot and I know she was very uncomfortable. I felt so bad for her and there was very little I could do to help her other than give her some pain reliever or put orajel on her gums to at least calm the pain a little bit.

With my cousins, nieces, and nephews, when their teeth began to grow in, they screamed a lot. They did not really have fevers and colds or anything like that, just a lot of screaming. It's painful getting your first teeth, but children are resilient, they bounce back.

I am worried about my son who may be getting his first tooth real soon. I have heard many nightmare stories about how the baby would respond to the pain and discomfort of having his or her first tooth. Hopefully, there would be replies here that would help us, first time parents, to handle this situation.
