The Black Album from Metallica is the best compilation album, what do you think?

Favorite Metallica album. . . .that's like asking someone, "Hey, what's your favorite kid? The older one or the youngest?" lol. Ok, so that's exaggerating, but their first 5 albums were so great, it's hard to choose. I suppose I'd go with Ride the Lightning or Master of Puppets, but Kill 'Em All was also amazing and Justice is still their heaviest yet.
RtL is what really got me into metal, though, and that album has a certain atmosphere/mood to it that the others don't. I can't really describe it, but it just feels different. I think that's probably my favorite.

i think that the black album has a lot of popularity but it´s not the best of metallica, i think that master of puppets was the best. when metallica was a independent band and has a rock attitude

I love all Metallica. Each album has it's own flavor, and each comes with a different feel. My personal favorite would have to The Black Album...by far. Next would be Ride the Lightning. Best songs from the albums:
The Black Album: Enter Sandman, Sad But True, The Unforgiven, Wherever I May Roam, Don't Tread on Me, Nothing Else Matters.
Ride the Lightning: For Whom the Bell Tolls, Ride the Lightning, The Call of Ktulu, Fade to Black
