Ive tried and tested many anti-depressants prescribed by a doctor. I hated them all except for Prozac, which I continue take and have been taking for a few years now. However, over the past couple of months Ive been losing my hair. Im only 25. My doctor thinks its possibly a thyroid problem or stress. If its stress, it might continue to fall out! Does anyone have any experience with this? Im freaking out about it! Doctor also wants me to switch from Prozac to Citrilopram incase its a side effect. Has anyone been on this before? Im nervous about switching drugs incase they make me ill again. Id appreciate any advice.

It could very well be stress...I have a friend back home who loses chunks of her hair when her stress level gets too high...ARe you going to be tested for your thyroid? If that comes back fine then I'd lean towards stress AND/OR have you moved to a new area? into a new home/building/apt etc? have you changed your eating habits at all? maybe using different shampoo etc etc?
why does the doc want to take you off the Prozac?? if it works for you and you personally DON'T want to switch then DON'T! seriously..why mess with what works ya know..
