I used Norton before and switched to Avast and now I'm using Kaspersky. What do you think is the best AV program in the market? Please state why.

Currently, I am using Avira Antivir Personal Classic Edition. I have been using this software for almost two years. You can download this for free at www.free-av.com. Since using this software, I have never encountered any problems at all with regards to its overall performance. It is very light on resources and does not use a lot of memory. Therefore, does not slow down your computer like other antiviruses do. Have a nice day and God speed!

I have been using my computer without any AV software for nearly 1 year. And I found my computer as healthy as he was one year ago.I don't like AV softwares because they usually slow down my PC a lot. I'm using Power Shadow,a software that will keep your computer from any virus. An EXCELLENT software.

One of the best, but free options out there is called antivir. They have a database as good as norton and have pretty good detection algorithems too. and not that heavy on your system. screen shots http://www.mylot.com/w/image/1785634.aspx http://www.mylot.com/w/image/1785632.aspx Try it out at www.free-av.com/

I guess Norton and McAfee is the are the best but as far as I concerned, it was very expensive. I am using e-scan by the way. It powered by kapersky.

I know, these anti virus softwares can be very expensive. But is it true that Norton runs a lot of processess on your system that makes it slow?

I decided not to use an AV Softwares at home because they consume a considerable amount of memory and autoscans could hinder work speeds at times. I use Deepfreeze and restored my OS back to its frozen state.

MM.. AVG free edition too is a good option. Not that system heavy. Compared to norton both these are pretty light on the system.
