Preservation of the "New"

It sounds like complete nonsense. Call it a strange habit, if you will. Does anyone else buy clothing ("clothing" here being used more as an umbrella term for all things we could wear or put on, including clothes, shoes, hats, scarves, gloves, jewelry, etc.) only to keep it "new" by not ever wearing it, until, of course, it's no longer considered "new" (that's of course, if you want to be considered "en vogue")? Or do you all wear it immediately the next day?

No, I never purchase something unless I intend on getting my full moneys worth out of it, unless it is for someone else that is diffrent. I have heard of people who do this so I guess it isn't that strange, I just can't imagine why.

I have a bad habit of buying clothes and then letting them sit in the store bags for about a month. It really has nothing to do with them being considered "new." It has more to do with the fact that I hate throwing my old clothes away. I have a bunch of old t-shirts that I have yet to throw away even though I bought a bunch of brand new ones. I also have another problem. Sometimes I will try things on in the store and love them. Then when I get them home and let them sit for awhile and try them on again, but don't like them anymore. Then they just sit in my closet till I toss them or decide I like them again.
