in my country, unemployment has been a common issue especially to the fresh graduates. some companies even bear the slogan "so and so experience is needed", wherein of course fresh graduates do not fit it in the practical sense. but then how would these bunch of new kids falling in line by the job industry gain experience if they will not be given the chance to have one? this made a big effect on me when i graduated from college. i was stagnant for almost a year just to land a job where i can accumulate that kind of "experience" the companies are looking. how about you, how long did it take?

Yeah, that's a crazy thing in today's world, isn't it? Fortunately I studied English literature at the university and even while studying at uni, I had started to work part-time as an English tutor to kids. Thus when I graduated, I had already had students and they kept on adding up. I think in Indonesia there are still plenty of job seekers who look for fresh graduates, though, simply 'coz they're "cheaper" to pay.

Yes. I completed my post graduation course in economics and a project was awaiting. Though it was not a well paid job, involving a lot of touring and taking the surveying people with me, I did accept it because it was my first job and first earning. Later I joined a publishing company as a copy editor.

After the competion of my course I immediately joined an office. As for my profession the initial salary was very meagre and I don't care it.Because it is the nature of my profession. But as the experience go up the increase in the returns is exproportionate. But at the same time I am looking for some leisure works so that I can always have the pocket money for daily needs.

I graduated last 2003 and right after graduation, I applied to a computer school as part time instructor. After a year, I transfered to another school while taking my masters degree. Its not really hard to get a job if you finished a business related course like management, accounting, marketing, etc. and you finished to a reputable school. Also, there are more companies now that prefer fresh graduates because they tend to be more loyal and stick with the company longer. Maybe I was just lucky.... I dont know. Right now I am running my own business. Good luck to all.

Hello dimaks, It did not take me too long to get employed after I graduated in college. It takes me only 3 months to land a job. In finding a job it's not quite good to hear but having "someone you know" could really help in finding a job and being hired. That is actually the reason why I get hired. Not because I am qualified with the job but because We had a family friend who back me up to able to get hired. In my first job it only takes me 6 mos. to work since it is a contractual basis But also got lucky to land another job for 2 months after my contract is done. And right now I've been working in this company for almost five years now. And it was because of someone I know. ^_^
