If you had one thing you could change, do over or fix, what would it be?

We all have things in our life that we wish we had not done or done differently. I am not talking about regrets because regrets serve no useful purpose in life really. What I mean is maybe you could have started doing something earlier in life or you were at a crossroads and often wonder what would have been the outcome had to chosen the other path instead. Maybe a career path you always wanted to follow but for some reason you never really got around to doing what it took to go down that road. Maybe a love you had that got away for one reason or another. For me I wish I had started my home business about 10 years before I did. Of course I was not exposed to the opportunity back then and I do not know if I would have chosen to take that path back then even if I did know about it. It has completely changed my life and I know where I probably would be now had I had the chance to jump start it years back. Not that I regret anything I did up to this point but it would have saved me a ton of career hearyache, downsizing and just general corporate world BS. We all have these kinds of things. What would you have changed, started earlier or not chosen if you had the chance?

If I could be 19 again and re-raise my kids knowing what I know now. Things would be alot better today. -Amber

I hear you on that one. I spent a ton of time owrking my career (12-14 hours a day) before starting my own home business and now realize how much I missed. Wish I had those back but it is nice to be here for them now.

I know and I wouldn't change a thing about the relationship I have now with my kids, we have our ups and downs but for the most part we can joke around and talk openly about our feelings. -Amber

Exactly, it is nice to be a friend and a parent at the same time. I had that relationship later in life with my dad before he passed away earlier this year. I miss that and want to make sure my kids have that with us.

I would have been emancipated & left my abusive family to get my degree in psychology. I'm so close to getting that degree, but it's so hard to go back, once you have a family!

I would have gone to school for something useful. Instead I went to school for a computer graphics related field and I can't find a job. I graduated with my BS in communications and technology and design in December of last year, about 10 months ago. I apply aggressively but I haven't even had an interview in a few months now. Maybe I'm just not good enough. maybe it's a useless degree Maybe I'm just in a bad area for what I want to do But whatever the reason, I'm 26, working retail, with a 4 year degree, making minimum wage, and 25,000 dollars in debt because I chose to go to school for something pointless that is not working for me in the real world. It was what I had wanted to do since I was very young. Like by time I was 13 or 14 I knew that's what I wanted to do, but now I wish I had just gone and done something practical like studying to become a teacher, doctor, dentist, vet, lawyer, or something where there's always a high demand for jobs and where I would at least have financial security and freedom. I hate my job, hate retail, people get on my nerves so bad that i think really bad of most people, I can feel myself becoming less nice, and having to pretend to play all niceynice wears on my nerves. Job pays next to nothing, has no benefits, and just stresses me out and makes me miserable to no end. I feel like because I chose to go for a stupid degree now I will be stuck working retail for the rest of my life - It makes me want to burst into tears even now thinking about it. How miserable it makes me. And how I have all these loans now to pay back for something that was utterly and completely useless to me.

Yeah, did the same thing in my career path. I ended up making good money in my career but it took a long time. I sent you a friend request because you seem like a very bright person and wanted to discuss something with you if you do not mind. Thanks.
