Another Fire

Most people know that there is a fire burning right now in Malibu. I heard about it earlier, but it did not really hit me until I smelled the smoke about an hour ago. A girl that lives on the third floor of my building says that she can see the smoke. I do not want to go up there and see it. I am afraid that I may panic. Having to smell it is bad enough. Have you ever experienced a big fire close to your home?

It's pretty windy here but it's very warm outside, from what I hear it's suppose to be even warmer tomrrow and more windy

Yeah I have with a fire where I use to live all of the woods in that area where on fire and police where making everyone leave and get away from that neighborhood before things got worser. They also would not allow anyone. I had to ride with a neighbor to get away to reach my mother because she couldn't reach me. That was pretty scary. Luckily it got taken care of after the next day. It was during the summer. It seems in Florida a lot of fires get started during the summertime.

Yeah there was like a police yelling it out that everyone needed to leave and that we are in danger. I was watching my roommates daughter at the time she was like 3 I think. I was glad that my neighbor happend to be heading out because I couldn't of gotten a way out of there. I think my car was broke down at the time.

Wow, I didn't know you lived near there, Rozie. That's scary. I hear they are evacuating people. I have never lived in a place where a big fire broke out. Fire is something that scares me. I had nightmares about fire when I was a child, but I don't know why. Maybe it is because fire is simply scary. Stay safe! : )

Fires have always scared me pretty bad also. They are so consuming. A few months ago, we had a fire down the street at a factory. I went down there to be nosey, but I had to turn back because I was having an asthma attack and could not catch my breath any longer.
When I was walking down there, it looked like the end of the world. There were people coming out of the college going every which direction. The sky had gotten dark from all the smoke and it was really a mess. I hope that everyone will be safe soon and they will be able to contain the fire.

They are saying it might be arson? I hope not - look at all those peoples lives ruined with their homes burned down and cars too. I do hope you are ok there. I emailed all my relatives there to see if they were ok, luckily the fires are no where near them but they can smell the smoke.

It is hard to believe that these fires have been going on for so long and are still burning. Last time there was a fire at a some kind of store over here. I went out to try and be nosey and the smoke started bothering my asthma and chased me back home. It was frightening, because it looked like the end of the world out there.

I forget that you live in California for some reason. I'm sure that must be scary for you. I don't know what I would do if I was ever in a fire. I know I would panic for sure and not keep my head straight. I'm terrified of fire, or rather, the thought of being trapped in a fire. I'm with you on not wanting to see it. I wouldn't want to either.

I have but it was not so close that it threatened the home itself.
Are you prone to panic attacks? Being treated for an anxiety disorder?
