got put down and felt attacked today

i went to a small museum today. it's a tiny old house turned into a heritage museum. anyway i got there right when it opened and i was going to do a photo project for college. i didn't even get through the door when the curator attacked me. he asked what i was there for so i said who i was and what i was doing. for about 30 minutes he went on saying how the college museum courses suck and how we only get trained on how to work in big museums and we don't know what to do in small museums (which doesn't make sense to me, if you have the training for the big profesional ones who's to say you can't put down your standards for the small museum) anyway then he went onto to say how the other two small museums i'm presentently workinf at suck and how everything about my schooling sucks and is stupid, he'd never hire a museum studies person. anyway then he says he took the course. i just couldn't beleive this curator. he completely attacked me and he doesn't know me.

Sounds like he was in a not so good mood today and antil museum studies people - don't take it too personally, he may have just been having a bad day!

i just spoke to my professor at college today about my experience. anyway he told me this isn't the first time he hears bad experences with this guy from the museum.

I am sorry this happened to you. It seems that this man is not a professional and should not be allowed to speak to the public. He may have failed the course in college and that is why he was so rude. I would also report him to the college and let them know that you had problems at this museum. I hope you have better luck with another museum. It would seem that this man did not want any kind of publicity for his museum. I wish you luck with your next project.

thanks, i did let my profeccors know what had happened and they had heard of him previously doing this to other people. i definitely won't be going back there again.

actually last week i spoke to someone who works closely with him. she had told me to go there about a job. that's not why i went today though, i just went for my project. anyway she had told me he's hard to get along with and he can be mean. but i wasn't expecting this. this was more than mean.

Gosh, the guy sounds like a total jerk! I never understand how people like that can function being so negative like that. You'd end up just depressing yourself along with everyone else around you! Well, sorry you had to deal with him. I'm kind of surprised that he still has a job there if he is so difficult to work with. I'm sure you're not the first person he's been really rude to!

That jackass was downing you because of his own self esteem. Don't let him get you down. If it were me he was talking to, I'd have put my arm outward and pushed him out of my way and said, "Excuse me, I'm doing my homework" and left him to stand there to feel like an idiot that he is.

Well, he sounds an ornery person,but you know..keep him up your sleeve, he maybe handy to use for a project specializing in the small museum.
Befriend him, he may have some ideas or perspective that other places don't have...maybe it has to do with funding and money. He may have his reasons.
