Child Abuse

We are hearing more and more of child abuse, and the little ones are scared into silence. I have read about this and feel nauseated. How can elders do this to little children. I advise all parents of little kids to be alert and see if the child is scared or unusually silent. They must be cajoled to tell all. I have heard of it happening even in schools and churches! Please please be careful. These little angels need to be protected.

OMG, you have to listen to the song "Because of you" sang by Reba Mcentire. The words fit. The video shows that the song is about spouse abuse but, the first time I heard this song, I wanted to dedicate it to my freak father. It goes like this "Because of you I never stray too far from the sidewalk, because of you I always stay on the safeside so I don't get hurt..." I visit foster homes now that I'm older and I can see that look in many of their little eyes. I adopted two abused boys and after a whole year of my protection, they still have that look in their eyes when approched by a stranger. They will have kids stay the night here at our house but, they are afraid to stay the night elsewhere. I wonder if parents realize what hell they are putting their children in for the rest of their lives when they abuse them? Ugh, I could go on forever but, I'll stop now. It's just making me mad :-)

Dear girl, hats off to you for doing what you have done. Not all have the guts or the courage to adopt two little abused children. I can understand their fear and I am sure that after some time, with your love and dedication, they will learn to smile in life and become brave. You must have suffered a lot in life and yet you grew up to be a wonderful person. I dont believe abused children turn out bad, and you are a prime example. Good luck and God Bless you and your little ones. May they have the guts to fight back with you by their side.

Awe, thanks for the comments. I promised them that if they can't fight back, I will fight back for them until my last dying breath. I think they really believe I will do that :-)

Child abuse is just one of those sick things that keeps happening and probably always will. There really is no signs of child abuse letting up. You still hear stories on the news that would make a normal person sick about kids being molested by their parents or prosituted out or kids sold for money its all so awful and I agree with you has to stop. This I believe is a number one cause of serial killers, violent criminals and so on because these children grow up with such abuse thats the way they figure you handle stuff is to beat people or to abuse them. Laws got to be strictly enforced and punishments have got to get stiffer for these crimes.

I don't dissagree with you but, I stuck this comment in here to remind people that not ALL abused children grow up to be bad. I myself have done just the oppisite. I try to show the world that there are good people out there and that they can always feel safe with me. There are those of us who were severely abused that go out of our way to prove to the world that abuse is not always repeated. We can break the cycle by not abusing our children or children around us.

This is a sick and sad thing that has been and still is going on all over the world...I have kids myself and I don't know how anyone can treat kids so bad and hurt them in anyway? I was abused as a child and I have grown up to be a wonderful person and my love for children is so great I could never hurt them....
