1 week ago, my doctor told me that I had gestionall diabetes. So I met a nutritionnist and I thought that I would only ave to reduce some things that I'M eating.
I have to calculate everything. I can't eat like I want anymore. Also 4 times a day I have to check my rate of glucymy. It's been only a week and for the moment I find it very hard. Even if I try my best, I think that my rate is not good enough. I think that I will have to receveive insulin injection. I know it's not that bad, that I only have 5month to live like that, but I really find it hard.
When you where pregnant? did you had diabetes? How did you live it?

I had it when I was pregnant with my daughter. I was miserable!! I remember crying several times trying to shop for food that would fit into the diet plan. I was able to control my sugar levels by sticking to the diet, but it was very hard. If you follow the diet plans and eat small meals throughout the day hopefully that should be enough. I think it took me a while to get adjusted to eating the right things and keeping my levels low. I later found out that the diet that I was given was for non pregnant people with regular diabetes. I was actually allowed more calories than the diet they had me following. No wonder I was ready to chew my arm off, I was so hungry!!
Stick with it, if only just for the health of your baby. That's what kept me going!

when i was pregnant, during my late term, i was diagnosed to have diabetes also. I limit intake of sweet. and since its already the last term, I can't eat so much because i feel bloated everymeal. I take small meals instead, try to eat little bits at a time so as not to upset my stomach.
Sometimes gestational diabetes is normal among woman. Just follow your doctor's advise. I was not advise to use insulin during pregnancy. Once you have your baby out, you have to monitor your food intake and gradually eliminate high sugarly food in you diet for a meantime. Also do take diabetes medicine and have blood test every so often. Its also important to get back on a exercise routine even if you only do it at home. that way your diabetes will not hinder your health. It does takes time for the sugar level to hit normal range but with diligence you can do it.

I already have to check my sugar 4 times a day. I know I will have to go pass a diabete test 2month after I gave birth.
At the beginning of the week my sugar level was not that good, but right now it's getting better :)

I'm not pregnant, and have never been but I am diabetic. I was just diagnosed this year. You do what you have to. Eventually it will get eaiser to deal with and look on the bright side. At least it's not forever. But use this as a starting point and watch yourself. What I learned was if you have diabetes during pregnancy it ups your chances of haveing it later in life.

Thankfully I didnt have this. But I do know that you have to follow all the rules if you want a healthy baby. If you dont your baby will have diabetes and have to be tested its whole life. I know it sucks having to watch what you eat and check your sugar but its so worth it in the end when you get a healthy baby! And Remember most of the time it goes away after you have the baby but in some cases it dosent so be prepared. Good Luck!!

My friend during her pregnancy was also advised by her doctor to limit food intake due increased of her sugar level. Although she did not told me it is diabetes but I think you had the same case.
She actually followed advise and went to a diet. She also went to yoga exercises for pregnant women which had helped her lower her sugar level.
She did not went for an insulin injection during her pregnancy. She safely delivered a baby boy. I think you too will deliver a healthy baby as long as you take care of your diet and take all necessary medicines.
Good luck on your delivery day. I do wish you and your up coming baby well. God bless!
