wow!!! this is a really shocking revelation by the infamous author of the harry potter series... the headmaster of hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry turned out to be gay... i personally think that there's nothing wrong with that... dumbledore could be added to the list of famous gay people... i must give a thumbs up to the author for trying to uphold equal rights and not discriminating homosexuals...

Personally, since Dumbledore isn't that big of a character to me in the movies (or the books) it doesn't matter. I think this is merely an attempt to boost her book sales and gain more publicity. Why not come out with this back when they had the Yuletime Ball when there was alot of romance in the air at Hogwarts? Why wait till all the books are done and she's at the 13th hour?
The UK is a huge supporter of gay rights so it isn't surprising that she had to toss this in there somewhere but I still think it's nothing more than a publicity stunt.

maybe but also she had to give out this information because the script of Half Blood Prince movie had something showing Dumbledore interested in a woman so she had to correct the Director by passing a note saying he is gay! whether for publicity or not the information is interesting :)

Yes i read that too and its quite interesting that she gave that information. I think lots of people already suspected it for some time, in fact i did too. But i agree it takes away nothing from the books or his character.

Yes it was a bit of a shock. I agree with you about upholding equal rights, but I have a feeling that there will be some fundementalists who boycott the books and the movies now.
Oh dear, but they probably did already due to accusations of encouraging occult behaviour. Oh well, it's funny old world.
I bet most of these people have never even read the books or the movies, if they did they would see that it is an epic struggle of light against darkness. But that's for another day.
