dog agility

Does anyone out there do dog agility? I'm deeply involved in the sport and write professionally for agility magazines.

Yes my husband does agility with our oldest shar pei. Last weekend they got their first 2 passes in jumping and my husband was soooooooooo proud. I do obedience with our stud male and at the moment are in novice. Have you got any tips on how to get a dog to take a wooden dumb bell, working on this for open(not having much success) any tips would be welcome.
