Anyone know why cats stare?

Hello!
Does anyone have any idea why cats stare at you! My cat just sits staring at me while im watching tv or on the computer. I have tried to stare her out but i always lose! Its very disconcerting, so much so i sometimes have to put my hand up to block her view! She's still looking when i move my hand though!
Its not just my cat that does this. My friend says his cat does the same to him.
Anyone got any ideas why they do this?!

Because they love you and want you to pet them and give them some attention that they deserve. So talk to your cat and give them lots of love and once they've had enough they'll lay down or get down and move on. Come on, be nice to your kitty! :-)

Aw, id never thought of it like that! I just thought she was trying to spook me out for some reason! The next time she does it i shall take your advice and give her lots of attention instead. :o)

LOL no silly, cats don't know anything of that nature. You know, it could be that they're hungry too or in need of water. But most of the time it's "Please pay attention to me" They're loving little creatures and always want to show love and feel loved. Bless you for being so thoughtful about it!! I have 8 kitties and can you imagine how much time I devote to them? ALOT! lol But I love every minute of it though.
